Modded Xbox 360 - Banned system - $125 shipped
- running an older DVD Drive flash (do not recall which version) to play backups
- Non-HDMI
- running original blade dashboard. JTAG-able
- 203w PSU
- one controller

This is/was my secondary Xbox that was used in a secondary room in the house. Has not been used much at all. Never RRoD'd, never froze, etc.
This was modded professonally by a store here in NJ a few years back. I've confirmed that this is a JTAG-able system with someone familiar with
it but I have never attempted it.

Shuttle SN95G5 - Small form factor system - $200 shipped OBO
- Case, motherboard, PSU
- Athlon 64 3000+
- 1gb Corsair TwinX Platinum ram (2x512mb) Model CMX512-3200C2PT
- NEC ND-3520A DVD Burner
- ATI 9500 Pro (makes a terrible whine at startup but works)
- 4port USB 2.0 PCI card

It's probably a good idea to pop in a new video card on this system. The current one whines like crazy for 2 mins on startup and then settles down to a dull hum. It works but is quite annoying.

I'm sort of interested in the 880 Remote. This would be my first universal remote, so bare with me, lol. How do you go about setting it up with the TV, home theater system, and cable without causing one to turn off the other? I ask that now because the remote for my cable sometimes turns off my gaming speakers that I hooked up to the TV.

well the way it works with my harmony remote (first gen) you get the serial numbers of all your components and then you plug your remote into your computer by USB. Then you put the serial numbers of all your components in and then if you want to do something like watch tv you set up a chain of events with drop down menus. So watch tv would look like this: turn tv on - set tv to input 2 - turn cable box on - turn receiver on - set receiver to tv. So when you press watch tv all that will happen, you just have to make sure you keep the remote pointed at the tv when you do this since it take about 3 seconds to turn everything on and put it to the right settings. If you press watch tv and throw the remote on the couch and it points away from the tv, it will only have time to turn the tv on.

i really like mine though, works good IMO

Drizzt nailed it except for the serial numbers. At least with my 880, I've never needed any serial numbers.

You just load up the Harmony app on your PC and search for what you own, ie. Playstation 3, or Samsung PN50B650, etc. Then set up a macro just as Drizzt described so that the TV turns to the right input, your stereo turns on, DVD player turns on, etc etc.

You definitely need to keep the remote pointed at the components though while the macro does it's thing. It's only a matter of 3-4 seconds, but if you do happen to hit the button and throw it, you'll be turning stuff on manually haha. I quite like the Harmony stuff... they're very handy, but they're not quite the universal remotes some people think of where you're just selecting the device you want and running with it... it's all macro/activity based.

ah i see they upgraded that. Ya it was a pain because i needed to get behind all my components to get the serial numbers, but that only took like 5 minutes
