Don't tell me you're going for bang for your buck when you are throwing money at a BMW (of all bikes) that you haven't even ridden let alone bought yet.

Don't you at me! I'm seriously infatuated with this bike so I'm willing to ignore any and all reason!

edit: you're right though, with ABS it's about €12.000 MSRP, while something like a Yamaha XJ6 Diversion is €8500.

pardon me if I'm rambling, but you've got to check this guy out for example: http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/detail...html?cdetail=1

Now, you don't know what this guys 'moderate' and 'fast' driving style are like, but I digress.

Then check this out: http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/overvi...=1&powerunit=2

The first legitimate entry (no fucked up fill-ups) of bikes with > 50hp is a BMW F650CS Scarver, then some more scarvers and then the F800S.

These results are coloured because www.spritmonitor.de is a German site and therefore is kind of batting for the home team. But the data is not forged as far as I can tell. Sadly, the English fuelly.com doesn't allow these kind of queries, to prevent abusive entries.

Spent about $550 so far in preparation for the track.

To do:

Flush brake fluid /w Motul RBF-600 (higher boiling point)
Flush coolant
Replace oil+filter (K&N + Mobil 1 4T 10-40)
Replace spark plugs (x4 NGK CR10EK)
Replace air filter
Mount/balance tires (Michelin PP Pure)
Safety wire oil filter/drain plug
Disable headlight/tail light
Tape over turn signals/lights/speedometer/wheel weights
Remove mirrors
Lube/adjust chain
Wash/wax entire bike
Lube throttle/clutch cables

Friends and I are going to do a little bike maintenance pow-wow this Saturday. Should be able to knock it all out.

Saw a 6th generation VFR800 on the road for the first time a few days ago. I'm smitten, one of these will defiantly find their way into my stable at some point. Alongside a couple imported, low-cc VFR's and an early CBR250.

Niiiiice!!! The police use VFR800's here.....I want one.

I may be a little bias since I ride an RVF400, though.

Motorcycle daily just did an article on how the pre-vtak vfr800 is possibly the best all around bike.

I perfer the pre-vtak because he sound of the gear to gear cams coupled with the v4 sound make it sounds like a blown small block.

Even though mines a last of the 750's it still is very fast, not liter bike fast but It can hold it's own pretty well against the 600's, not so much off the line but once you get around 60-70mph the viffers shine.

Make sure you get a fashion leather jacket and some fingerless gloves to wear when you ride it.

Anyone remember that guy?

Where do you guys buy riding gear (helmets, gloves, etc) online. There are very few motorcycle gear type stores in my area so I was thinking of driving to one, trying stuff on, then purchasing everything online as im sure the prices will be a lot cheaper.
