You have the same problem jehannut does when it comes to posting pics and vids.

But cool seeing the tire sidewall flex. Next time put the camera down low so we can see the course and tire.

And how in hell did you get into BStock on fucking slicks?? You should've been in one of the prepared classes.

Slicks are allowed in stock class according to SCCA rules. The car is 100% stock except:

-Hawk HP Plus pads
-Hoosier A8 295/30r18 slicks
-Catback exhaust system

That's absolutely all I'm allowed to do in stock class. Well, I also can run one aftermarket swaybar, but I'm not sure it would be worth doing so as the car is quite neutral now, and just one bar would make it either excessively oversteer or excessively understeer (depending on rear/front respecively). I could also revalve the Bilstein OEM dampers, but that's getting a bit too costly for my liking.

Race tires are legal in stock classes. The logic goes something like, if you restrict stock to street tires, you end up having to use special street tires that also have to be shaved, so the cost ends up being the same, but you go slower.

Uh, the stock classes have always been allowed racing tires.

Truth. (I think they should have a separate sub-class, like BSR, R for the slick tires)

Yup. I run with the Boston BMWCCA, and they actually split the stock on slicks or stock on street tires, even with the non BMW classes. Other than that they follow SCCA rules.

The competition is actually very stiff. The results I posted were raw times. Our club groups all of the entrants together and applies a PAX factor to put all vehicles on a level playing field. Myself, another Evo X on R's, a 97 Golf Trek, and a newer RSX routinely come within a couple of tenths of one another in PAX results.

This is the first year we've had really stiff competition at the top, so the change is nice. In the past one or two people have dominated full seasons at a time. It's much more interesting this way as there are four people equally capable of bringing home the best 8 of 10 event overall win for the season.
