First autocross coming up, what do I need to know/do?

I'll be driving a stock 2004 Mazda3. What tire pressure should I be running front/rear? Manufacturer recommended is 32 all around. During tech inspection they check for brake pedal firmness. My brakes are... a little mushy to say the least. Hopeful guess: just some air in the lines and I need to bleed them. Next guess: leak inside the master cylinder. How firm does the pedal need to be?

Any other advice welcome..

Serious answer:
You should probably know how to drive.

As far as things to do....drive well.

You can try running tire max instead of recommended... If your tires will handle 45 psi but the car sticker says 32, 40 psi might work really well. Just don't fill to max on a cold morning before a hot afternoon of hard driving = kaboom.

Part of the reason for autocrossing is to learn how to drive better. I'm not really familiar with my car's limits, or how to drive as fast as possible

I'm not saying I hope you die or anything, just that if something really, really horrible happens it would be a waste if it were totally for nothing, you know?
