Best 65 inch or larger TV for 2000.00

Looks like we still have some gadgety folks here and I've been out of the game too long. Still rocking my 2012 61 inch Samsung DLP in the living room, and a 2003 65" Samsung RPTV in the garage. I want to take the DLP and put it in the garage, which means now I need a new main TV. I sit about 10-11 feet away. I'm saying 65" or larger, just because then it miht feel like an upgrade, but if there's some 60 inch badass unit out there then tell me why I should snag it. I'm on /r/hometheater , and I'm holding out on AVSforums because I don't want a headache reading every argument. I have a Roku 3 so Smart features and 3D mean NOTHING to me. Speakers are the same. No need.

OK.. what have we got?

I looked up panny plasmas and they are way overpriced now. Used to be able to find a 55-60 for $600-$800, now its like $1400 for a 50 E30 of TVs?

I'd probably go for the first one loler posted. UN65H7150.

unless you want curved + 4k for a couple hundred more: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN65HU...4385337&sr=8-3

If I were shopping for a TV right now, I'd probably go for something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN65HU.../dp/B00ID2HJJM

The 8000 series is usually the price/performance nexus between the lower priced models and the crazy high end units. Also, for the paranoid, the model I would get needs a separate accessory to enable the voice and motion control so there is no built in 'spy" function.

Here ya go http://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-un65f8000/

It has useless 3D (doesn't hurt 2D quality though) and a crapton of smart features, but any decent tv is going to have all that these days.

I still can't bring myself to buy anything LCD. I really want to like the newest Samsungs, but fuck curved TVs. Man...I'm in your boat, when my 75" Laservue DLP goes, I don't know what the fuck I'm going to do.

That said, I'm with you, and when the 77" comes down under the price of a car, and has proven itself to have reasonable wear stats, I do want.
