oh man

new hose in

but it was followed up by another much more alarming scary problem

I think I've abused my ASC so much that its now malfunctioning

I took (yet another) corner too hard and for the following like... block the car was lurching, headlights blinking steadily on and off, stability control light blinking with em....

yeah i saw a tidbit about having to get a different tb boot or something so that the asc throttle plate is eliminated

bigger problem though... fuckin battery is FLAT

voltmeter is (err--had been) showing that the alt is putting out too much power if anything

Prolly OEM batt, grab a new one.

There is an M roadster that came w/o ASC, so it has the straight through elbow. I bought that one. Then just remove the actuator. There is a noticeable difference in throttle response w/o the second TB, imo everyone should do it

buddy who sold me the car says 99 and below did not have traction control

and I actually do feel the car is lacking in terms of throttle response so I'm game

when I'm coasting in neutral and I go to rev it so i can grab a gear there's wayyyy too much delay

Yes this helps. Also a nice cone filter over the factory airbox, which is pretty meh. However these have a heavy dual mass flywheel, so that will always be a part of it too.

I think on m3 95+ had asc, which is why I used a roadster boot - they had no asc AND obd2.

I recommend the OEM one, it's only about $30 and is a perfect fit

Also you can skip the resistor bit by leaving the actuator in place, it will never engage since the TB is missing, ASC will be disabled.
