"Baby" Desert Eagle

I've been looking to buy a gun for a little while now, and I really like the baby desert eagles. I would like to get a gun that I could eventually use as a concealed carry. My bro has a beretta 92fs and a springfield armory 1911 that he had customized by Dave Lauck, and I love both of them, but I don't think that I would want to be luggin around a 1911 and while I like the beretta i'm not so sure i would want one. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on the baby eagle? Also, i'm not sure what I would want to get it chambered in, most likely .45.

Never fired one of the baby eagles. The beretta is slightly bigger than the 1911. You would probably want to go with something smaller for carry. Once I get my CCW I'm going to get a snubnosed .38 for carry and I would only use my XD or beretta for concealment in the car. With a .45 if you're talking about packing 10+ rounds it's going to be heavy no matter what.

That thing be 40oz in .45...heavy Really too heavy for carry if it were me. No way would I ever want to take it anywhere. Both the other guns you listed though are huge and heavy as well.

A Glock 30 is smaller, almost half the weight, and still 10 rounds, just a thought...

That's a good poem.

or glock 36! if you can live with 6+1 then you might as well go with a chopped 1911 if you want to pay 2 or 3 times as much as the glock 36. compact 1911's and glock 36's are both EVIL to shoot though

nah, never shot a compact 1911, but i have put plenty of lead down a 36. It has some sharp recoil, but it isnt uncontrollable

I know the feeling. My dad has a Grendel P-12 in .380 and that thing is a bitch to shoot.PICS
The thing is that i'm not much of a glock fan and I don't want to use a gun that I don't like, but who knows I have never shot one I might like it.

I've also been leaning towards a compact 1911 possibly from kimber.

On another note any feelings about FN Police Pump Shotgun?

The pro carries seem like they would be big enough

Like i said, I'll go with a Snubnosed .38 and/or a PPK or similar sized automatic. Sig makes a nice .380 auto i've been eyeing

mine beagle 9mm. seriously, its pretty damn good gun. its based on CZ-75, and i read on some forums that beagle in 45 is pretty decent shooter. and i think having heavy metal frame helps with recoil and second shot..
p.s. yah, even the compact model is not that small and polymer frame ones are .. so i wouldn't conceal carry...
