Wow, that TV takes me back to 1992. I've seen fishbowls with less curvature.

Seriously, why bother to paint? For one, it's an apartment, and two, someone already did a neat job of colorizing the walls. I'd say go with what you got.

Still, you will enjoy the heck out of that place! I've been living in a small (~300sqr. ft.) 1br apartment in an apartment building that was built in the 1920's for the past three and a half years all to myself and I couldn't be more thrilled with the quality of it. Mind you having responsible landlords helps significantly! I'm now saddened to be leaving my current since I'm moving across the state to start a new job next week.
All the best for your stay!

There really wasn't enough time for the landlord to paint, and all I have to do is submit my receipts and i'll get some sort of reimbursement.

It's an older place and the owner is strongly encouraging the tenants to do some upgrades, i'm planning on redo-ing the kitchen floors and would love to do the cabinets, but i don't think i have the $$ to do it.

The TV was bought at least in 2003 and i dreaded moving that thing because it weighs like 800 lbs.

I have a major design bug that I need to fulfill. I wanted to make the place mine and be happy with my surroundings. I would also like to stay here for a while and the more i like it, the longer i will stay. especially since it's decent rent ($595/month heat, hot water and parking included)

I really dig it, especially with the new paint.

I love that sort of place, narrow timber solid wood floors, proper baseboards, legitimate tile in the bathrooms, etc... old stuff is AWESOME! It's a shame that it doesn't really exist here in Florida, but I hope that someday the wife and I will find a nice semi-city area with some nice architecture to buy or rent into.

Don't want to thread jack, but this is my new place.

About $1500/month on the 5th floor without an elevator. Roughly 200 square feet, give or take, at least the ceiling are 10 feet, otherwise it would seem smaller than it already is.

On the plus side, I'm <5 minutes from a subway stop and <10 minutes from the Met and Central Park

This just blew my mind. I will never again complain about my rent.

Also I second the bed frame, pretty sweet.

That's only slightly higher than my mortgage on a ~2200sqft. house, plus a barn and 10 acres of land with a view of the ocean.

I'll never understand city folk

Bed frame looks like a custom welded job from square tube steel. If it is, it'd be heavy as fuck -- but

That is one tiny ass place, but if I were single still, I'd have no complaints what so ever. I've found big places are just a pain in the ass to keep up with. I just need a nice kitchen, a comfortable bedroom with a functional bathroom and a garage to make me happy. My office area and entertainment/living space would work easily within the bedroom space, making the additional rooms unnecessary.
