Do you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to switch between track and street plastics? It is a PITA, let me tell you. The R1 is going to stay my street and occassional track bike - I was just given the opportunity to paint my bike a different color.

So, no, I'm not selling my stock body work and I'm not selling my bike.

I don't care if the value depreciates!

I've had nothing but horrible experiences with getting my bike painted. Had it done twice, by friends who said they could do it no problem. Took months each time and both paint jobs were pretty shitty. But then these were just guys who painted in their free time, not a business. Good luck either way you go. I think flat black would look awesome.

Black would be cool for a trackiing bike. Stock colour really does look good though.

I figured you were going to make it into a dedicated track bike as opposed to just doing the basic "remove mirrors and signals, tape the headlights, etc" temp conversion.

If I could stop spending money on small stuff (if $500 or more a pop counts as "small" ) long enough to save up a few grand, I'm going to buy a dedicated track bike. My F2 probably wouldn't be competitive without throwing some money at suspension upgrades, and I don't want to risk thrashing my Gixxer.
