I'm going a different route than all of you.

2005 Chevrolet 2500 HD

It's easily the most bulletproof engine/trans combo on the market today.

while the trannies are very nice the engine leaves something to desire, any large diesel mechanic will alwyas wonder about how long the aluminum heads on those will last.

go cummins or go to the shop when it comes to the big 3 diesel trucks

I don't get "reliability ratings" of 2 year old cars. I could probably build a car out of marshmallows that would last for 2 years.

The REAL rating, and the REAL reason people KNOW "toyota / honda >* " is because of the 20+ years of reliability. Personal experience speaks volumes above any consumer's reports article. My family has owned 8 toyota's in my 22 years, 4 of which are still being driven today with over 200k, 2 over 300k.

Brainwashed, HA!!!

Also, whoever said Toyota's are more american than any others... only certain models after certain years. Not sure when, but I know my 91 camry, and bros 97 4runner have the Final assembely done in japan.

Not true at ALL, it would probably get eaten long before 2 years rolled around.

But yeah, Volvo 240 ftw

I agree. I'd like to see more being said and done and written about the 3, 5 and 10 year reliability of a brand. CR does track it though, you can look at the model history charts, and it's a good source of info, but it's not emphasized enough and IMO it's the most important thing to be looking at.

Something with the word "Toyota", "Honda", "Acura", or "Lexus" on the rear of the vehicle.
