My neighbor has a jet funny car. He got a huge inheritance and dove in head first. Just does demos and exhibition stuff with it. Apparently having a jet engine throwing 30 foot flames out the back with the afterburner draws big crowds at events.

He could go supersonic, but he never takes it over 275-300 mph because the thrust reverser, brakes and the parachute can't stop the car on most tracks quickly enough. He also can't afford another one if he wrecks it anymore.

His fastest run is a 1/4 mile in 4.9 seconds at something like 310 mph. The only other guy faster than him is a guy who uses JATO style rocket engines.

It would only be impressive if it were street legal and could still haul a boat to the lake. It's lost all functionality expected of a truck so now it's just a dragster shaped like a truck.
It's almost as useful as a monster truck with a Beetle body perched on top..

Once you reach a certain amount of modification, a truck becomes nothing more than a muscle car with shitty aerodynamics..

Some trucks even come from the Ford factory that way...

You sure you aren't thinking of the Ram SRT10? The Lightning (NOT the one in the OP) could at least haul decent weight and pull trailers. The SRT10 couldn't even do that.

Well, no shit sherlock, given a whole host of disparities... Maybe if you found something made by your prison boyfriends that even remotely compared to that "trailer repositioning system" you referenced, then we could talk...

iirc, it's still on the original frame, I could be wrong. But if it is, it very well *could* do all that, except maybe haul a boat, and even them I think it'd be possible, if the tune were right.

Well, lessee... I'm sure if he put the tailgate down, it could haul that and a few other choice items, too...

You , did you just lose the ability to read?? That one's a 2004, meaning its original bed payload was 1350lbs. MINE was 800, with a 7500lb tow rating; and I've exceeded both, with no ill effects.

Hell, those POS's aren't even rated for ANY towing, and their bed rating was only 200-250lbs. And they're STILL slower'n Lightnings.
