I haven't used it, but I did save it for the inevitable mistakes I'll make.

It works OK, but is really limited to the nature of how FAT and NFTS formats "delete" files by flagging them in the file tables. As of when I used the product, there was no ability to read "empty-space" of the drive looking for file-headers.

I guess this is the disparity between freeware and $$$.

UFS explorer is the way to go though for the serious oops. Will even recover files from XFS formatted drives which are notorious for non-recoverable data when errors occur.

Thanks, but you don't have good luck with MSE, do you?

I'll still try it out. It still came out clean on 17 out of 20 antivirus programs when I scanned it using VirusTotal.

MSE didn't trigger on it, no. My guess is a false positive.

You see I have been dreading going through my movie/tv series/anime archives and renaming all the files to be more share friendly. I decided to google around a bit, and came across a modern, often updated, and fully vista/win7 compatible batch renaming program called ReNamer.
http://den4b.com/downloads.php?project=ReNamer

It works fucking great.
a) can simply be unpacked, put into its own folder in program files, and have a shortcut linked to start menu and/r desktop. For small programs like this, I far prefer a quick manual install to a formal installer.
b) very simple drag and drop interface
c) looks great
d) rules system, previews before final file changes, ect all fantastic features

This is seriously one of the nicest programs I have come across in awhile. Does EXACTLY what I want it to do, very robust and a variety of options, while remaining simple and fast. Batch renaming was never this easy.

Ill be checking out the rest of the apps the author wrote on his site, http://den4b.com/
Ive seriously been dreading doing this, and this program made it not only easy but fun heh. Now im going through my music directory and modifying a lot of their file names too. I use MediaMonkey's batch tagging features for the id3 tags and such, but filenames can still be a bit screwy.

I HIGHLY suggest everyone adds this program to their manditory initial software install list, along with 7zip and a bunch of others from this thread

Very cool! Thanks for sharing that i REALLY needed something like this!

There are many ways to reset lost Windows passwords, but I think the best and easiest way to reset Windows password is to use the Windows password recovery software.
