haha, no, its not "required" that you do those shots. they're just suggested shots you could include which everyone here has come to love and enjoy, but as the OP says, there's no "punishment" for not including them. so post away!!

I'm hoping to get some more fd glass soon I just missed this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Canon-FD-28mm-...d=p3286.c0.m14

I shoot with them.. the A-1 is a powerful camera, but when I was shooting film regularly, I found myself often having the wrong kind of film in the camera for what I was shooting.. I'd have a roll of 64T in that I hadn't finished, but something I wanted to shoot during the day, or vice versa.. so, the A-1 always has 64T in it, one AE-1 Program has Velvia 50 in it, another AE-1 Program has superia 400, and a regular AE-1 has I think HQ100 or 200.. but I also collect, and I buy/resell.. I have since acquired and F-1, an EF, another FTb, as well as another AE-1 Program and AE-1. And none of that even includes my EOS stuff,

Well I picked up a new little toy today

I picked this baby up for the awesome sum of $425

Stolen? Nope.. The autofocus mechanism is borked, so it's manual focus only. Seems to work fine so far, but it's kind of a bummer not having auto focus.. Oh well. This thing is HEAVY!

Mandatory cat picture taken with it:

Canon Digital Rebel XT w/ battery grip + Canon 24-105mm f/4L lens + occasionally used 50mm f/1.8 lens (cost a mean $80 llololo):

also the two lights are a Surefire M3 Combat Light (with flip-up red beam filter) and a Surefire 6P LED flashlight.

I photograph abandoned places so those lights help out a great deal. q

i'd recommend maybe starting out with the 17-40mm f/4L or the 70-200mm f/4L?

they're about as low priced as the Ls go... speaking of your post, yet not wanting to derail the thread, how much does it typically cost to rent a lens? I'd honestly like to see if any place in Atlanta has the 50mm f/1.2L available for rent.

niceee.

the lens I mentioned (50mm f/1.2L) is 45.50 euros for 7 days.

and google says: 45.50 Euros = 72.3723 U.S. dollars so not a bad price imo. sounds about right.
