Where do you live? I'm just asking because right now its 45 degrees and I wouldn't go out at night (even to the bars) without at least a sweater vest. In some places you have to layer during the winter or you freeze your ass off. Plus I don't really get what layering has to do with casual or not but yeah.

Some type of glen plaid check? Those are nice pants. I've got a similar pair in houndstooth pattern that I love.

Florida, so maybe that explains our contrasting views. Either way, I think the pictures you've posted scream "trying too hard" with all those layers and flair.

Also, are you gay Fout? If not please don't be offended, I just don't know any guys who wear D&G, Armani, etc that are not gay or a girl. And no, I'm not bashing wearing expensive clothes, as mine are Brooks Brothers, Vineyard Vines, Polo, Burberry, etc.

Yeah, when I was living in SoCal i'd be hard pressed to find a night cold enough where I actually needed to put on a sweater over a dress shirt. Then again my sweaters are super comfortable so I'd throw one on whenever I had the chance just because.

edit: I don't know your own personal reasons for thinking that was trying too hard, but when I was younger I used to think the same thing. Really it was just because I wanted to wear those kinds of outfits but was afraid (see that dude's thread about new outfits and paranoia). Now I don't think there is anything more comfortable than a nice sweater, and I will regularly wear one over a casual dress shirt if I am going out or under a suit jacket/replacing the suit jacket if I am at work.

I love that look (black shoes/purple socks/gray pants). I've been seeing a lot of purple socks lately and they always look good.

no, i'm not gay.

i've drifted away from the eurotrash lately (dg, prada, gucci, etc..). having more fun with less known avante garde labels... or emo labels as lurker would put it

check out some of the pieces on www.ateliernewyork.com. not very wearable when thrown all together, but it's hard not to appreciate the art in (most of) it.

that's fucking hilarious.

I'm assuming this stuff is just like the crazy stuff you see on runways, i.e. things you aren't actually supposed to wear but can show off the talents of the designers.
