I think what's funny is that instead of pumping 4 or 5 shots from a distance, which they EASILY had time to do, they shot it once (maybe twice) and then let it run straight at them. How fucking retarded is that, I seriously wish that thing would've taking the guy's head off just because they played it really stupidly and deserved it.

LOL!
maybe they're waiting for a broadside shot like most people? You can't just fucking shoot it anywhere. This whole charge thing proves how careful you have to aim. I think the guy shot it too far back, and it wasn't hurt enough.

And notice that the lion is alerted and quite agitated. Most people are careful/hestitant about shooting when the lion is like this.

Maybe he should've taken a frontal chest shot. Do you seriously think you can shoot faster when you're scared like shit, and cycling your bolt gun and recovering from the recoil of a big bore rifle?

I'm talking about the first shot. There are many guys there with rifles. They could've shot it a shitload of times instead of shooting it once and then sitting there watching it for a little while....and then trying to shoot it again once it charged. It's fucking retarded...do people not understand it's a god damned LION?? Those things are predators, pump it full of as much fucking lead as you can when you have the opportunity, don't wait to see what your first shot did

this isn't combat, you don't fire a trolley into the thing. The hunter would be fucking pissed if he paid $3500 bucks in trophy fees for a leo then have other people shoot it.

Unless the client wants otherwise, the professional hunter doesn't shoot unless it's to stop a charge. The lion was already running when he fired that shot. They had to track it in the long grass and that's when it charged them. He simply didn't have the chance to give a follow up shot.

It's a fucking lion. That thing can rip you into shreds. Yeah, it's fucking combat...kill it, or be killed. I'd rather pay $3500 and have a dead lion regardless of who shot it besides me than pay $3500, shoot it once, almost get killed, and have it die from someone else's shot anyway.

WTF is wrong with hunting lions? Not like the trophy fees and shit are cheap and the money doesn't go into conservation.

Lion hunting is , they make really awesome trophies. Trophies = last practically forever for you to enjoy vs. death in the wild and all that beauty and magnificence torn to nothingness by hyenas & no money goes into conservation.

no, they can cover 50 yards in like what? 3-4 seconds? And a lot of time the blind is set up even closer.

Sniper rifle?

There are also women who take lions.

This ain't like shooting the Lion King while he tries to sing you a song, you simply don't get it, stfu.

There is a limit on how big your cartridge is before you start having trouble mastering your gun & follow up shots. Even if hit with a really big bore, the lion would probably keep going if not hit in the central nervous system.

shot placement > bore size

A revolver (definitely not a semi-auto) 44 mag and up is a good idea for when they knock you to the ground though...

I'd prefer to bag some cape buffalo rather than lions though. And some plains game.
you are one stupid fucking killing a animal, a stupid animal with a gun is not a trophy. Its nots hard at all, anyone can do it you just point and pull the trigger you retarded redneck.

but anyway if you are not going to eat the animal you are hunting there really is no point

That's the fucking reason why they call this Dangerous game hunting. The risks are there but it's still hunting, not a fucking combat/firing squad situation. They still have to follow hunting ethics and stuff, such as going after the wounded lion in long grass to finish it.

Not all people accept the risks.

it's not that simple just killing animals

it's taking animals but giving back to conservation. An area can only hold so many animals, instead of culling it and kill it, why not have someone PAY to do it for you?

Conservation through utilization.

it works fucking well.

holy shit at elephant video

i cant believe they dropped it so fast, impressive brain shot on the hoof.

and 00 buck is right, if it werent for that money coming in from legal hunting they wouldnt have the money to fight poachers. I dont agree with killing for sport either, but what you dont realize is that most of the time these animals will feed the locals. you liberals are so quick to dismiss something as being redneck, but 9 times out of 10 you dont know what the fuck you are talking about.

This isnt the pit so take your elsewhere.

WTF The only reason that elephant charged them is because they encroached on its territory. They didnt have to gun it down...

yea they did have to shoot it, unless they wanted to turn into elephant toe jam.

Those fuckers are freakin' aggressive, they would mash pedestrians to mush and then cover them with plants for some reason...

that was probably a problem ele anyway. Months of meat for the locals.
