When all is said and done I expect nothing less than 425 WHP!

Like I said, I fully expect to gain 20-30 HP up top after I get the AFR back under control. After that, I can start thinking about going from 13 PSI up to 17-19 PSI. 425 HP is eminently doable in that range.
All I need to do to get AFRs correct is find the right injector flow value (trial and error - these Deatschwerks injectors are good, but they're nothing at all like the Nismo units). Oh, and I need an EPROM eraser (I think I'm going to get a UV pacifier sterilizer from Target to do that job).

I have my EBC now: an HKS EVC 5.
I've also had a bit of a setback in that my wiring harness has decided to play hide and go fuck itself. So, yesterday I pulled the entire EFI harness (also: plenum and intake hoses) to start repair. Yes, I could just buy a replacement harness, but I'm trying to send my son to Preschool, so my discretionary fuck you money is gone for the time being. While the engine harness is out I will: a) fix the control line issue that broke the EFI and ignition coil relay trigger signal b) move the power transistor unit (the bank of transistors that fire the coils) into the footwell, from the cam belt cover. c) remove the control lines and power lines I don't need: i) the PRVR solenoid - vacuum source that kicks on at warm start to prevent vapor lock ii) the AIV solenoid (air source for the cats for cold performance) iii) the EGR solenoid iv) the boost cut solenoids (they haven't done anything since the turbo upgrade, since the wategate springs went from 7 to 12 PSI) d) replace all the ground lines e) replace the broken male/female pairs of connectors with nice new ones (probably GM weatherpaks): i) O2 sensor (3 wire) ii) variable timing control solenoid (2 wire) iii) TPS (3 wire) f) replace the broken connectors that are male or female only (plug into a solenoid in the engine bay or somesuch) with good replacements i) IACV ii) FICD (fast idle for AC) g) re-route the ignition coil and injector lines so that they're less spidery, and easier to route through the middle of the plenum h) integrate my wideband O2 sensors and boost controller harnesses into the main EFI harness.

Pulling like a freight train. Never understood that saying. Freight trains are fuckin slow and dreadfully underpowered.
Great looking project. Love the look of a 300ZX and you do not see many of them around any more. |

When speaking in regards to force applied alone, they are actually quite a good reference. The load an average freight train carries as of 2004 is 3100 tons, at an average speed of 55 miles per hour.

Force applied yes. Speed wise, no. Slow to accel, not great top speed, and you certainly don't get a feeling of speed when they accelerate. |
