Gay stuff I've done to my G8 - Part 2

Hello again!

I did some more stupid shit to my G8! This past weekend I installed an SLP Loudmouth axleback exhaust. Installation was easy, took about 30 minutes from start to finish and it shed roughly 35 lbs by removing the rear mufflers.

BORKED

I'm very happy with the sound, unfortunately I'm not as happy with the tips. While most G8 owners seem to love the shit out of the SLP tips, I prefer the traditional quad-outlet round tips. The sound is nice, so I'll keep them until I find a deal on a more traditional looking axleback or just replace the tips on these.

Until next time, when I install a cam and headers.

That was one of the least exciting videos I've seen. At least give us a higher rev.

It can only rev to 4k in neutral/park. Redline is 6200RPM in gear with the stock cam.

BORKED

I should probably invest in a proper camera mount...

Good job man. I'm not a fan of the flat tips but it definitely allows the car to sound like a proper V8!

Same here, I much prefer the standard quad-tip style. The price was right though and so is the sound -- I might change the tips later or try to trade for a more traditional styled axleback since there are a LOT of people that really like the SLP tips.

They fit nicely, but the quad tips still look better. Sounds good though.

flat tips work on some cars, I had them on my c4. Looks ok here too.

That is a weak vid though. No revvage, no burnout :/

Looks like you've got plenty of tread on those rear tires

More surface area = more traction, right?

I was mulling whether or not I was going to try and allocate a set of CTS-V wheels. I prefer the look of the factory Sport 19's, despite any performance benefits the CTS-V wheels may offer (Weight savings, wider contact patch and more brake clearance). I'll have to run spacers if I decide to install Brembos, but the factory brakes are doing their job for now.

Loudmouth system is coming off tonight. Got another system to try out (Super Turbos) that I think will pair better with the soon-to-be-ordered headers.

Installed these this morning:

Flowtech Raptor (Turbo-style) mufflers with staggered 3" stainless outlets. Fit isn't perfect, but they were super cheap and the sound is exactly what I'm after. No drone at all, sounds just like a stock GXP or ZL1 exhaust and will keep things in check when the headers arrive. These were a cheap proof of concept, since I know they'll do the job I'll have a proper set made by a local welder, using Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers.

The SLP Loudmouth acceleration video, since I was too lazy to make one outside the car:

Here is my goal after headers:

The Loudmouth setup sounds awesome on it's own, but with headers it will turn to shit... add in a cam and it'll be even worse.
