A good homemade weight gainer shake is 2 cups of whole milk, 2 scoops of protein powder (if you can, do one scoop whey and one casein), 2 tbsp of peanut butter and an entire banana. It tastes fucking delicious (far better than muscle milk or any weight gainer) and has a ton of calories. Maybe throw in some flax for good measure.
