Sold the SLP exhaust.

My HPTuners kit came today... but they didn't include the application key, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to play with it. Headers are on the way and should arrive Monday.

Those American Racing Headers?

I wanted those for my G8, since it went all the way to muffler back.

I will say you're not doing it right with the SLP loudmouths.

What fool would pay that when you can go to a muffler shop and for 60 bucks get both mufflers sawed off and weld pipe on? I did that to mine:

Also, if you need help with tuning.....talk to Shane on g8board.com

He knows his shit. Or see if you can get Matt from TuneTime to check out your tune. He checked out my procharger tune for me.

Loud*

My G8 had no cats, or mufflers. It was loud, but not too bad. Never got pulled in various counties/states/towns.

Now if you're on a bike.....they pull you over in a second.

Well then you got lucky or live in the sticks.

I've done no cats or mufflers when I was 19, then just mufflers a year later, and finally a normal responsible exhaust. It's the kind of shit you do to your first fun car after you break up with your first girlfriend.

Uh, I'm doing it right! I got them dirt cheap, sold them for 50% profit and got exactly what I wanted at the end of it all for $50. The current system consists of turbo-style mufflers and factory GXP stainless steel tips. The headers are OBX 1 7/8", very similar to American Racing and Kooks but not nearly as overpriced. Together it should be quiet inside, tame at part-throttle and make itself known at WOT.

Rick Crawford will be doing all of my tuning. There are only two other tuners I'd trust besides him and one of them doesn't have time to dabble with GM (Justin @ VMP).

This is the build thus far:
-----------------------------------------------------
OBX 1 7/8" headers + mid-pipes
Flowtech Raptor mufflers, GXP tips
Spectre 4" MAF housing
GM LS7 MAF sensor
Stock airbox, adapted to fit 4" MAF housing
GM 3-bolt cam sprocket
GM LS2 timing chain damper
GM LS2 valley cover
GM LS7 lifter kit
GM LS* lifter trays
GM LS3 hollow intake valves (Back-cut 30*)
IWIS timing chain
Lunati cam (219 int. dur.@ 0.50" / 232 exh. dur.@ 0.50" - .625" int. lift / .599" exh. lift / 113 lobe separation, advanced 1*)
PAC 1219x springs
Lunati 78511 valve stem seals
CompCams 4872 spring locators
Ported heads
Milled heads (11:1 compression ratio, up from 10.4:1)
Ported intake manifold
Ported throttle body

Once we close on our house I'll order the of the list above, send the upper assemblies off to RIck and anxiously wait around until they are ready, like so:

Oh boy, I've never gotten a package this big, I've always wanted a huge package!

Headers are here! Going to a wedding this weekend so installation will have to wait a bit...

So thats gonna be roughly 380-400 at the wheel?

If you want to off the line fast.....best invest in a camaro diff bruh....those 2.92's suck ass.....even for a sprinted roll race..

And they are quite cheap too.....and you can use the HP tuners to change shift points once installed. Just saying~

Waiting for that fateful day of bannage, c'mon Kyle be a man and push the button you big fairy.

Hope you have better luck with your headers than we did on my friend's 5.4 F150. For such a big vehicle, there is fuck-all of space to work with up there.

Its actually quite easy. The driver side is the roughest. If I recall when I had my Kooks installed on my G8 my shop called for 3.5 hours? I think.....vs my Trailblazer SS calling for 7ish hours.....thats....a bitch.
