if you're going to make a guillotine, make sure that you place it AWAY from the hole. otherwise, you'll just find bloody raccoon fur in the morning. You're gonna want to make the top of the guillotine blocked off, as well, so that others cant climb over once it's been deployed.

It's the only real long term option if animal incursions are a problem.

Did it, they chewed through it and dug it back up and got under even farther each time.

That's what I was thinking as well

I like the spring loaded option. Haven't got to test my tripwire snare trap yet, as I don't have the right cable yet, going to buy that this week.

Just buy it from Amazon and it gets delivered to your door. I get everything from PC components and large screen TV systems, home entertainment setups, even a bunch of fishing poles and reels.

Haha no one that I know if. Sheet metal squares/rectangles are pretty easy to find though. Just cut one at and angle and sharpen it with a file or bench grinder to get the initial edge going. If the sheet metal isn't heavy enought it would be easy to attach some weight to the blade.

For the record, thats a mouse snap trap with a hole drilled through it, also a 12ga shell placed so that a dimple in the snap bar will hit the primer when the trap is set off. Attach a trip line to this and you are golden.

instead of a blade, why not a cement block or something,

so when the armadillo comes through a chunk of cement will crush it,

obviously a different design...

Don't use anything with guns/ammo.

Sure, it looks cool, but legally... well, jail sucks.

I'd go with the cage or pit idea, really.

I don't know about Florida, but in Nevada it's illegal to set a "gun trap"
