I think it's the placement more than anything that kills it on SCs... they mount in a bracket next to the radiator, behind the condensor. Basically it's like they took the bracket for a normal full size radiator and removed some of the core, and stuffed the IC in there

edit: Another option is this custom double core intercooler (twice as thick) that mounts in the stock location, but for the money I'd rather just put it straight towards a true FMIC setup...

Oh weird, figured it's in front down low. it looks like the car doesn't have much of open grille area for airflow so i assume it comes from bellow like a C4 vette?

I don't know if there'd be room to lay it flat like that.. Firebirds have a big beak up front to hide some stuff, the Tbird is flatter I'll have to do some more research, I know many people with SCs have done the FMIC conversion but I don't think I've ever seen actual pics of it done.

Hows the front of the bumper look? You need to move that air dam forward a bunch probably

As a former MN12 owner and massive Thunderbird fan, I am pleased with your selection. I always liked the idea of the SuperCoupe (and earlier TurboCoupe) and yours looks like an amazing example of the breed! Moar pictures!

My old 'bird, loafy and full of anemic early-modular power.

Believe me, I'm eager for more pictures too, lol.

I actually wouldn't mind a '97 4.6 Tbird, with a nice exhaust. Anemic or not, the 2v 4.6s sound so fucking good with exhaust. It would be a really nice daily driver I think.

It was a great daily, so much so I considered another one before getting the 335. It'd be nice not to have a car payment.

I had a full exhaust with Magnaflows out back; it was way too loud but sounded amazing! If I were to do it again I'd keep the cats (go high-flow) and get either the Magnaflow Street mufflers or Dynomax/Thrush SuperTurbos.
