Finally upgraded (again)

Ok ok, so selling the jeep and getting the F150 was a BIT of a downgrade, but I made up for it.

First brand new vehicle bought from the dealership. Its a 2012, but it never left the lot and they had to launch it quick so I ended up getting it for cost

2012 Ram 2500HD Laramie.
6.7l Turbo Diesel.
Loaded. A/C front seats are amazing!!!

I finally have a grown up vehicle
My wife says that the F150 is a vehicle for "kids" since all the kids aged 19 - 29 that work in the oil patch have one. Now I can grow up to be an old man with a truck.

Meh, it doesn't need anything as far as I'm concerned.
I have no interest in lifting it or changing anything. The only thing I have planned for it is some heavy duty mud flaps. It has better fuel economy than my F150 did and was only 8 dollars a month more to insure. I'm saving money on having it.

If the F150 is the Albertan Civic, you now have the Albertan Accord... congrats!

Neat truck. It's absolutely massive... I've driven the 6.7. Awesome engine. The new Ram lineup is pretty cool.

How many '12s are still on their lot? Surprising. A family member just scored a '11 Saab 9-3 Turbo brand new, fully loaded, for like $19K this past summer.

Congrats!

Every time I ponder welding, you immediately come to mind. I'm finally going to start learning soon as I found a local machinist willing to share their knowledge through a work-friend. Not looking forward to the huge financial investment to get started nearly as much as I am the knowledge.

The necessary question - will you actually use that towing capacity and bed space?

You didn't buy it "at cost"

Dealers don't pay for new vehicles.......they have X day's to sell them or they start paying taxes.

You got screwed, don't candy coat it. You over paid and you don't even know it. If that truck sat on the lot for more than 4 months....there is a painful reason why.

Actually, I do
I own a small welding business, and am currently doing a 1100sq ft reno on my rental suite. It has definitely come in handy when moving windows, flooring and thousands of pounds in steel!

I agree, it is massive. Surprisingly though, very easy to drive but don't tell my wife that!
It was the last '12 on the lot. I'm happy just thinking it was meant to be mine. That's why it was still there
