Hey, come make fun of me

Short and sweet:

wrecked the RSX-S. Had it pretty much exactly 5 months.

Driving on a back road, deer popped out coming left to right. I quick swerved around it, couldn't recover. Little too much brake probably, didn't help settle the car. Hit a guardrail head on, which spun the car. Ended up facing where I came from. Should have just hit the fucker. Probably would have ended the same or worse, but then at least I'd have the satisfaction of killing the deer. My immediate thought upon seeing it was "oh fuck, I'm in a tiny car, that fucker is going to come over the hood, through the windshield and kill me, or worse, my passenger" so I swerved.

Have at it.

Of course.

And thats not a good idea. A. the 'bird isn't finished. B. winter's coming... I think that explains it.

Damn. That sure is shitty. It would have taken less damage if you hit the deer for certain but the instinct is always to avoid stuff. Glad you're both okay, which is what matters.

That windshield is pretty sloped, would have withstood/deflected most energy imo. For example:

Although i don't know what speeds you guys were going. I'm happy that the largest things that jump out into the road in so cal are racoons (which are normally too smart to suicide anyway.) Rabbits though, not so much - I think I crush one per year on average.

Not sure about southern California, but I just drove through Yosemite National Park at dusk yesterday, and I can tell you for sure and certain there were some big fucking deer up there that apparently have zero fear of cars on the road.

Coming around a bend too. I've rethought this a million times. It all sucks.

No fucking shit - I see flocks of them CONSTANTLY now. And coming back with the tow truck driver that night? 2 groups of 4+ deer on the short 6 mile ride home. Ridiculous. I've always gotten lucky with the deer. The one time I did hit one, which was like a week ago, coincidentally, I was in a ram 2500 and i clipped him with the front right corner, no damage whatsoever and the fucker was dead on contact.

EDIT: you probably are one of the only people who might get this, but this was down in Middleboro. Kinda self explanatory

hahaha there uesed to be a really good pizza place - the cabin? - on 28. other than that and peaceful meadows, middleboro is worthless. and the prisoners are actually in my hometown of bridgewater. Thats always a treat hearing the siren go off because one of those psychos escaped.

I'm in abington 1-2 nights a week over at Stix and Stones.
