Looking to build a budget shuttle gaming rig... need suggestions.

Hey guys, just wanted input on what sort of video card would give me the best performance and still fit inside this little guy.

Barebones Setup:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16856101115

CPU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-894-_-Product

RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220409

The mother board comes with a Raedeon 3000 on board card, which I am not pleased with, but I am worried about going for a balls out Nvidia card due to space restrictions and because of the 250W power supply. Ideas? Suggestions? Thanks!

If you check Shuttles site out, or email them ask them if it can hold a beefy video card.

Back in the days when I owned a few shuttles, I had a 7900gtx2 i think in a 200 watt shuttle.....ran flawless.

IIRC, doesn't AMD video cards have lower power requirements than nvidia?

Also, why get a balls out video card, with a not so ballsy motherboard/ram/proc?

Just find a dual or single slot ati card, and just do what most others do......dremel out the side to match the cooler for the video card.

edit: example

It's not the fact that it's AMD integrated graphics, it's that it's integrated graphics. A legit graphics card - talking 67xx or 68xx from AMD or similarness from Nvidia - would change everything right away. 67xx-range cards are rather power efficient compared to super-high-range cards.

All the current graphics cards from AMD are power efficient (for their level of gaming power). Nvidia's current cards are not, even the GTX 460

Fuck Shuttle. Seriously. I've owned 2 of their XPC's now (for some reason I didn't learn my lesson the first time) and I will NEVER own another. Never buy anything with proprietary motherboards and power supplies. Why, you ask? Because you'll end up with an expensive paperweight when they blow up, and they will.

I replaced the PSU in my first one (SN41G2) twice ($150 a pop due to non-standard size and connectors, of course) before I gave up and replaced the whole thing. The capacitors on the mobo blew up in the 2nd one (SD39P2) after just 3 years of light HTPC use. Motherboards for it are completely unavailable by themselves, and rare/expensive as shit even used. They're also very picky about memory, or used to be at least. Shuttle can suck a dick.

I'm just sayin'. Do yourself a favor and look at building a microATX system instead .. don't get stuck with proprietary parts with no upgrade path.

I think that case just comes in barebones form with a motherboard, etc.

Get one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16856101117
