Call of Duty 4 trailer released.

http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=4735

Not much direct-gameplay, more of a movie showing off the theme/setting, etc.

I heard that the game is going to have a ton of hit locations, like on the enemies head for example can have over 16 hit zones, etc. Not sure if that's true though.

The site that the trailer gives out the end is messed up for me though...

I'm obsessed with DHermit

Interesting.

I wonder how much of that will truly be in-game, and not just in cinematics...

Looks really good

I think 90% of it was at least game engine footage and not pre-rendered.

There was a hole here. It's gone now.

Kinda silly that they don't just use a new name like, Line of Duty or something, but a franchise is a franchise I guess.

But it does look pretty good. I just hope it's on PC this time.

This game looks amazing. Honestly I could not be more excited for this game.

BF2 is broken, Armed Assault is great but you need a serious organized group of gamers to enjoy it correctly.

The COD series has always had a very solid and responsive hitbox / gun recoil / hit registration system IMO. It is one of the few games were I feel like I have control of each and every bullet that fires, kind of like CS.. or at least I always know if it was a hit or not. The hit detection and animation in the BF series has always been kind of shaky, and Armed Assault you don't always know if you hit a guy or not either (although that is more for realism).

edit: to those who are wondering I am pretty sure this is coming to PC, 360, PS3 simultaneously. Thats what I heard IF say in the past. I honestly hope that doesn't change. COD multiplayer on PC was amazing.

I wish they'd have more realistic damage though....it sucks in CoD taking down people and watching them just stand up again and firing back at you like they didn't get shot in the first place.

I also hoooooope they get rid of those re-spawning enemies, those suck just fighting mindless wave after wave of enemies in cod2 and such.

I hated that.

I'd shoot a guy in the head 3 times to kill him and he just falls down, gets back up and starts shooting again with each shot. It was annoying as hell. It's like the Thompson fired rubber bullets or something.

i don't remember wave after wave of enemies in COD2, unless it was scripted, like your CO says "look out more jerries coming in across the road to the north"

one of my favorite things about resident evil 4 (and metal gear solid series) is that you can shoot your enemy in both knees and they'll fall over. in RE:4, they get back up because they're zombies obviously, but in MGS they stay down.

Umm.....yea, CoD2 has a ton of respawning waves of enemies until you cross the insivible "script" line that stops it and starts whatever happens next.
