Vitamin Supplements

I've decided to start taking vitamin supplements since I feel like I don't eat enough vegetables and fruits. Which brand do you guys recommend?

yeah, i had taken the same ones as xjumper after reading a number of reviews. They got too pricey for me though, and I just barely switched the the Target brand which is supposed ot be comparable. Unsure as to different effects yet

I used Animal Pak when I used to actually be active - I could honestly eat it at 5 AM, go to school from 8AM-12PM, went for a work out for about two hours (lifting/cardio) and then work from 4PM, get home at 2AM and be ready to go back to work from 6AM-2PM on Saturdays

I stocked food in the frozen foods section so I was just lifting frozen shit and going in the freezer.

I'm using GNC vitamins now and ... they suck in comparison, but circumstances are different now.

Why don't you buy fruits and vegetables then instead of wasting your money? Vitamins aren't replacements for food you need.

Price/time wise, vitamin packs can be more effective than sitting around and eating fruits/veggies

ive been taking a centruim one a day for a few months now, i feel it gives me more energy, if its just the placebo effect does it really matter

its hard to get the correct amount of vitamens/nutrients your supposed to have each day, would it be better to get them from food.. sure but its cheaper and faster this way

I couldn't find Animal Pak at the pharmacy. I picked up One A Day (For Men) it's the one without any iron in it. I'll come back in two weeks to see if I feel any different.

It's hard to count all the vitamin and minerals. I'm definitely not using it as a replacement but rather in case I miss something.

thats about how long it takes to kick in it seems (two weeks). I actually noticed it a lot more when i ran out, that I was tireder, than that I was less tired when i started taking it

Vitamin supplements are unlikely to provide you with any benefit unless you have specific deficiencies (vegetarian, pregnant, missing part of your GI tract). On the other hand, taking too much can be toxic, but this is rare.

You're wasting your money if you eat a regular diet and aren't experiencing any heath problems. If you are having health problems, you'd be better off going to your doctor to get worked up and figure out what you're missing.

There's no reason you need to be "sitting around and eating fruits/veggies" all day either. Just eat a balanced diet and drink your milk: http://www.mypyramid.gov/

*This advice is based on medical school education and looking at scientific studies.

I definitely drink enough milk, but I'm rarely eating any vegetables. My diet is mostly meat, dairy, and bread (rice, and etc).
