this plastic isn't robust OR photogenic enough

it would flop around pretty badly if I added a big opening in the middle for chicken wire

Simple solution: you can get 12x12x0.025 sheet aluminum on Amazon for $4.39. Aluminum is good for the application, in that it won't rust into the water, and 5052 is relatively free of corrosion, plus Aluminum, so there's the weight savings to consider, .025" should be easy to bend into a hoop without kinking, too.

The inside circumference of your bucket is π times the diameter of the inside (measure the inside).

Cut the sheet aluminum into 1" strips, glue or screw them together until you get one the circumference plus an inch, and then join it in a loop.

Put chicken wire over the top of that, make 2 or 3 more with the remaining aluminum, sell them to other Bavarian Mangina Wankers, and profit.

you know...

you don't even really need a grit guard if you don't leave your sponges in the bucket when not in use...

just put them in the third empty bucket after wringing them out instead of tossing them in the soap or rinse bucket.

I sliced myself to shit on this junky plastic if I tried sheetmetal work I'd probably lose a hand and then would be incapable of posting on genmay

I mean, really? You spend $500/month on vape juice but resort to chicken wire and 30 year old box fans so you don't have to spend $8 on a piece of plastic

I fail to see the drawback.

two grit guards already put me over the $12 I spent

and I'm paying more money for something that's ill-fitting
