Hopefully legalizing marijuana will give those eyes back to hikers who happen step into a "harmless" marijuana farm and have one of their eyes gouged out by a fish hook.
I agree with legalizing marijuana, but that won't stop dealers from selling harmful drugs for a high profit. Dealers making money of marijuana will just move onto the bigger stuff.

Besides, as of 2002, 45% of all drug arrests were marijuana arrests. Don't the police have better things to do? http://www.news-medical.net/?id=9762 Many communities have known bad areas, where harder drugs may be sold and used openly without fear of police intervention. Why? Police are too busy to investigate every suspected crack house or slimeball selling heroin to kids. Imagine how maany more law enforcement, judicial, and rehabilitative resources could be devoted to the drugs which destroy lives if the police weren't making 45% of their drug arrests against marijuana users, 90% of which are accused of simple posession.

If it was legalized what will all the Drug Cartels do for a living?
![]() Where and who will sell/grow it? Can we start a Franchise and call it " Jiffy Fix" ..get loaded in under 10 minutes or your next Bong hit will be Free." Seriously...Society can't even handle Legal Alcohol...we do not need another section of Society Stoned. |

you make it seem like as soon as marijuana is legal, everyone will start smoking all the time. fact of the matter is, a good percentage of people smoke marijuana regularly now, and the numbers wouldnt change much in the long run if it were legalized; most people have personal morals they stick by and the majority of society would not be affected whatsoever by legalization. its not like people will suddenly start getting stoned in the street or act like they can do anything. maybe a few will, but they'll go to jail for good reason. i bet you anything if they legalized marijuana they'd control it just like alcohol; i.e. you cant smoke and drive, can't smoke in public, they'd probably set the legal age to 21 as well. most likely the taboo that goes with pot will prevent it from being legally smoked anywhere but the privacy of your own home. which, ironically, is exactly what its like now. so there's no reason why we shouldn't go ahead and change this law that does absolutely no good. |

I'm surprised at the number of people who seem to think of the world as one big monkey house and that human beings will give into unfettered indulgence with whatever they are allowed by their elite moral handlers.
With this kind of thinking it won't be long before legal behavior will be limited to respiration, regurgitation, and (when permitted) reproduction.

When each member of society learns how to be responsible for themselves, then we can look at legalizing. The way I see it right now: those who want to smoke weed/use illegal drugs will find a way, those who don't want to use drugs, won't. This is fine by me until people are properly educated on drug use and can take responsibility for their own actions (sober and intoxicated).
