was your white pad blackened at all by what I can only assume was colored/tinted wax?

I used a color-specific wax product back in the Eclipse days... It was basically a regular bottle of crap wax with a little lipstick applicator filled with chunkier silver wax that you were supposed to smear into the cracks/scratches then polish over w/ the reg wax... Terrible. Havent' seen anything like it since then.

Yeah it was a grayish color, and my applicator pads were stained that color.

I've been using Meguiars cleaner wax for years. Low and behold, I see they have waxes for particular colors of cars. I see the "Black wax" and what do you know? There's a CTS-V on the bottle . So yeah..I bought it. Washed her up and clay bar'd a few areas on the front and then it was time to wax dat ass.

Grabbed my random orbital and a terry towel and gave her a nice coat. While I was waiting for it to dry a bit, I hopped into the trunk and finally bolted down my sub enclosure. It's not going anywhere now.

Once I get the haze kicking, it's time to buff.

I'm loving it . Here's a shot of the hood from above. She came out great.

After that I decide it was time to finally legalize my pistol setup. It seems even though I have my conceal carry, just having my USP on a magnet mount wasn't considered legal. I drilled the middle of my magnet mount out, ran a bolt through the back and then drilled the mount into my car. I disassembled my Fobus paddle holster, which had a threaded hip plate, and screwed that onto the bolt on the magnet mount. Then I butchered an Uncle Mike holster and stole the thumbstraps. Tapped those into the Fobus holster and Voila.. she's 100% legal and still more accessible than anywhere else I could find in this car. The mount is incredibly sturdy. I'm happy.

So yeah, that was my Saturday afternoon. All in all I feel I got some shit done. Next up is my Remote bass knob installation. Cadi wired these stereos so as you turn the volume up, the subwoofer signal actually drops down to protect it. I removed the stock sub but tapped into its signal wires for my amp's high level input, so by having the knob I should be able to dial in the amount of bass dependent on my volume levels and what type of music I'm listening to.

1. wow thats a heck of a shine, well done. Your paint is new though, so in a way you're cheating

2. what's the rear deck made of? I'm wondering how the sound gets back into the cab in your case. I went from two rear facing 10s to a single forward facing 10 in my avalon and by not blocking the sound with the enclosure itself I not only gained more space but the bass was better too.

3. Well done on the pistol mount, I'm wondering if you've ever felt like you might need it? Around here CCW is rare so I've never seen anyone pull a gun in traffic, but maybe in your area I'd feel a bit more like I should have that option available.

It's the reason I went with a sealed enclosure for the subs. Kept the size down. I'm totally happy with the amount of bass and space ;-)

Sealed for sure - not just size, but for sound quality! Sealed enclosure roll off (-12db/octave) meshes almost perfectly with the cabin gain in most cars (+9-12db/octave) so why anyone would want to alter it with a port for an automotive application is beyond me. Just makes it harder to set gain in proportion to all volume levels, and causes muddy/sloppy bass at some frequencies.

Source?

I assume there's some kind of BGC for CCW in his state, but that doesn't mean there's some inherent life-time exemption from ego, hormones, emotions or alcohol.

Ego, hormone, emotions or alcohol alone won't cause a horrific mass shooting, but batshit insanity will. Batshit insane people usually don't subject themselves to government anal probing, and if they do they'll likely be denied anyway.

As far as I know the testing and reporting associated with this is pretty shaky which is why i asked for a link

people aren't always born insane, sometimes they go insane after certain events or mistreatment, perceived or real, etc

In Texas, just passing the initial background check and taking the required safety courses isn't all there is...they continue to monitor you and can revoke at any time.

Maybe I should ask you for sources of licensed carriers going apeshit with their weapons? Unless of course you just agree with me and want some backup.

im not sure what to agree with, sounds like TX has a decent CCW policy, except I'm not so sure what monitoring really entails.

But yes, there's shit like this (not to mention it seems obvious):

"Concealed Carry Killers Responsible for at Least 26 Mass Shootings in the Past Six Years"
