Hi,

I'm after a digital camera. Doesn't have to be too special beyond a) a high resolution (12MP minimum) and b) reliable and likely to last a while. I'm looking into this - ubuyhardware.com/p~p-1848567000~b-402~Olympus-Stylus-Tough-8010-14-Megapixel-Digital-Camera---Silver.aspx - do you guys think it'd be appropriate? Any suggestions of an alternative?

Thanks in advance!

I'm lookin to buy a decent DSLR nothing too expensive. We're having a baby soon and I want to be able to take very nice photos with a nice camera. Can you guys recommend me what kind of camera, lens, accessories I would need as a starter? I'm not trying to spend a lot, maybe 800$ tops. Thanks

Iím looking to get a D-SLR for my wife for Christmas..

We will be going to Thailand in March, so we want something that will capture the beauty of the areas.

and we also have 20 month old twin boys, who we take a lot of pictures of.

We have a point and shoot 8 mp Sony camera now, and a HD Sony camcorder.

having video capture capability isnít a huge deal for the D-SLR to have...
But we want something that will last us a while

Thinking about the T1i or the newer T2i

But i am a novice when it comes to digital SLR's so any advice or input would be awesome!
Thanks in advance

For travelling what about a sony nx5??

Alot smaller than your average dslr, can still change lenses if required and you will be more inclined to take it with you/look less of a tourist

NewEgg had a very nice Black Friday deal with a "Canon EOS Rebel XS Black 10.10 MP 2.5" 230K LCD Digital SLR Camera w/EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens" Link

For $479.00 - $60.00 (promo code) = $419.00

I was looking into getting that for my sister, she's getting more and more into photography. However, they sold out before I could snag one.

I'm not too up-to-date on cameras, I mostly read reviews and decide that way. Reading the review for that camera they said it's perfect for beginner DSLR camera. Just a question ...is that camera worth buying for around that price?

I need some advice.

I'm heading over to Europe for a couple of months and I'll mainly be staying in Surrey and Paris but I'll making trips to a few other places.

I know nothing about cameras, hell I mainly take my pictures with my cell but I want something nice that I could use to take pictures of my trip.

What I want is something light and easy to carry around, re-chargable, optical zoom other than that I'm open for suggestions.

I'll be in a hotel room every night or with my family so I need something to last me through the day.

I wanna stay in the $200-$300 price range.

Thanks for the suggestions.
