Lipstick on a pig
Tomorrow (5/19), I have a car show to attend with the Datsun, so I figured it might be time to give it a bit of shine.
To start, I used a little Optimum no rinse wash and shine. It got the sap and dust off effectively. However, you can see that it wasn't going to be enough to just wash and wax: I use 3M products (rubbing compound, machine polish, and ultra-fine machine polish) on a DeWalt 7" buffer. Shitty half-and-half pic (half done with the rubbing compound, half uncorrected): After polish, before wax: After wax: It's not as critical as on a black car (thank goodness), but it's still a noticeable thing when all those scratches are gone.

I would go with black wheels on a yellow car. Especially one like that one. Ever thought about ditching the chrome?
Ps. like your bumpers

The enkei 92s are getting refinished in graphite. I just need to find the time to get out to the sandblaster to get the rest of the old powdercoat off. I took them off and put my appliances back on because the refinishing became much more time intensive than I could handle at the end of the semester. PS. my bumpers are carbon fiber. Not black ![]()

Update: ordered some velocity stacks for the Webers. Probably going to pick up the 0-4PSI fuel pressure regulator today, and get started on the plumbing.
I'm definitely going to be doing AN connections, probably -6, as that most closely matches the hard line going back to the tank. Still trying to decide whether to go with an electric fuel pump or not. 2.5PSI isn't a hell of a lot, and it might be nice to get rid of all the stuff around the front of the motor. Spark is a different story; I'm probably going to have to convert to a Ford EDIS setup with a MegaJolt or something for coil-on-plug, since there won't be anymore vacuum advance for fuel economy at partial throttle.

Welp, solved that quandary.
Picked up a Quickfuel 1-4PSI regulator, 0-15PSI pressure gauge, and a Holley blue fuel pump, along with many AN fittings and hose after lunch today.

![]() Bits o' shiny. Gonna have to go back and get a 90° fitting for the bottom of the FPR, a fuel filter, and a couple compression fittings to adapt AN to the existing 8mm hard lines, and of course, whatever fittings will need to go to the carbs. Got some velocity stacks coming from eBay and the Czech republic, maybe next week, maybe December, lol.

It's gonna look good with some shiny stacks on top.
