Fun fact..

In spite of the 3rd world looking bottle with indecipherable hieroglyphic writing, Sriracha is actually made in the U.S. and was created by an American.

It's Vietnamese and the founder of Huy Fong Foods is Vietnamese

The name of the sauce comes from Vietnam,

but does Vietnam have a city named Irwindale California?

*Vietnamese American

The sauce was developed by the company's founder, David Tran (born 1945), a Chinese-Vietnamese businessman and former Major in the army of South Vietnam, who fled the country in 1978 and arrived in the United States (first in Boston, then in Los Angeles) in the spring of 1980 as a part of the migration of the Vietnamese boat people following the Vietnam War.

Just because the company has its headquarters in Irwindale doesn't mean the founder is from Irwindale.

Never said he was a native of Irwindale or the U.S., but Huy Fong was started in 1980, and the sauce we know as "Sriracha" was created here when he was an American citizen, not imported from Vietnam like some think..

You said it was Vietnamese, but only the name (generic, no one specific formulation) and idea for the sauce came from Vietnam.
