throttle issues with an '02 Mustang V6?

2002 V6 Mustang, Manual, no codes thrown

friend of mine has been having an issue with her Mustang
when she starts it, and when she's driving it and clutches in, it'll rev up to about 2500RPMs, randomly it'll also accelerate a bit, not enough that it Toyota's off the road, but the concern is that it'll get worse and it might start to accelerate uncontrollably

apparently it's done this before, and she had the throttle position sensor replaced, i'm wondering if this is a common issue

Fords almost always run into problems with the IAC eventually, check that first IMO.

I agree that it might be the IAC (Idle air controller). Try removing it and cleaning it out.

Intake Manifold Runner Control, essentially a set of butterfly valves which allow for multiple intake paths between the throttle body and the intake valves. A long path to improve torque in the low RPM range and a short path for high RPM power.

You can do it without removing it but honestly it only takes like 30 minutes to remove the whole thing without air, with air about 15 minutes at most.

And that is my first time ever taking the intake off my mustang, but I do work on cars day in and day out so you know how it is sometimes.
