16 gb is enough if you will be using mostly cloud-based services for music and movies. Apps don't take up a ton of space so it's really media that is in question. I originally got the 16gb wifi in August thinking that I would be mostly streaming content from my PC's. I travel a decent amount and found that it wasn't enough space for all my music and movies I wanted access to on the road (1 week+ trips). I swapped it out for a 32gb and it gives me enough breathing room for some extra content when I need it.

I went in buying my iPhone with this thinking and I am sort of regretting it now. Sure, most apps are under 50MB (there so many usefull ones that are only a few megs), but there are still some out there (mostly gaming) that are 1GB plus. On my phone I have about 9 3D games which make up the chunk of my HD and an assortment of other apps/2D games and I have about 4GB left. I've started DLing stuff less frequently because I want to save space.

In other news, I really hope the iPhone 5 has a 64GB model, I'll be all over it as I'm sure other people will be too.

I was so excited to take the plunge finally until I saw the photo quality. Believe it or not, having a functional camera is one of the things I love about my Iphone. To find out the IPAD2 has a camera that is just pathetic compared to even the Iphone4's was a major letdown

THIS^^^^

Seriously what the FUCK was apple thinking sticking a fucking 0.7 MP has the main (rear) camear.

I remember when ordinary dumb phones started getting cameras in them back in 2002-2003 even they had at least 1.3MP cameras.

Apple is gettin a lot of heat over this.

I didn't realize the specs on the camera were that bad. The picture quality seems half decent.

I've had mobile phones with 2, 3, MP cameras that looked like total shit.

I seem to be in the minority that I don't really care about the camera resolution re: still photos.

If Skype and FaceTime look good in motion (videoconferencing) then I don't really give a shit about the still photos tbh.

I suppose I don't see why you'd need a semi-decent camera on a tablet. What else are you taking still photos for with a tablet beyond profile pics for social networking applications, or the like? If you need anything with great fidelity you wouldn't be using a cell phone either, so why would you be using a tablet? Should your Macbook Pro have a high-resolution still camera on the back?

It's one thing to hold a cell phone to snap a quick picture here and there, but I can't imagine holding up an iPad (or Xoom, or Playbook, or TouchPad) to take a photo.

I work on cars and trucks as one of my hobbies, and I do it A LOT. I love being able to take a quick progress pic or part number pic and text it to people. My Iphone 4 does a pretty good job at this, but sucks when surfing the internet from my Shop to look up tutorials and part numbers. The IPAD 2, with its bigger screen, would have been perfect for this, But the camera is beyond sucktastic. I've been looking all over hoping to see some decent photos. No good so far.

that is exactly what it was designed for! the cameras are meant for video... not photo. You CAN take photo but like you said.. it just doesn't make sense.
Don't believe me? just look at how they market the specs: "720p back, VGA front"

Usually prompts when attempting to synch with updated itunes.

There is a schedule it follows. If you plug it in between the scheduled checks, it won't tell you there is an update available. iTunes shows it on the summary page when you click on the device. You have to click "check for updates" on your own to update it if it doesn't pop up the message.
