Toshiba laptop wont charge my battery

i have a 6 month old toshiba portege r705 that wont charge my battery, the battery icon on the bottom right of my screen says "53%, plugged in, charging"; only it isnt actually charging because it has remained at 53% for the past few days. i called toshiba tech support the other day and they sent me a new battery. i put the new battery in and the same thing happened. im guessing this is an internal issue with my DC seating or something, but i dont know if it could also be my AC adapter. any ideas on what the problem could be?

Try working with it and kill the battery till the laptop shuts off.

Then try to charge it back up.

If it was working fine up until recently and you haven't dropped it in a very bad way......then I don't see how its the seating of the battery in the laptop itself.

Also, check bios, see if there are any battery setting options, play around with them.
