Here's an idea: a TRANSITION windshield. You heard it here first. I'm going to e-mail BMW

Bro, you really just need to sit in a car with 50%......its noticeable to your eyes. But I still see the same shit I saw before.....with less pain to my face.

I don't wear glasses, fuck that. And I hate having to adjust visors for that proper angle.

And those bars across the top you talked about? Now that is just gay as fawk....

edit: I keep saying 50%, because I have seen and been in 30% windshield......that is a bit much for me. That's how I decided on 50%......my tint guy has tons of sample cars sitting up at his shop, and his personal car....etc etc etc....

I have one of those "bars" from factory, but it's a blue-gray color that goes from dark to nothing gradually. Occasionally I flip the visor so nothing can get through - your 50% can't do that.

As an aside, do you also have your last name spelled out on the rear window, perhaps in old English lettering?

No, I am the type of person who debages their shit for clean looks. I do not add stickers or any of that crap.
If it were not for Lexus actually using real badges (IE not glued on) I would have taken those off.

My tint set up is 20% all around and 50% in windshield. Its quite nice and normal looking.

My trailblazer ss and LS430......they looked like a dignitary was riding around in them. 5% over factory tint and 50% windshield. You could not see inside even during the brightest day.

I liked it. But only because both were black cars. Silver car with massive dark tint looks odd to me.

TX

No tint allowed below the AS-1 line so far as I know

EDIT: and I'm not saying it *looks* bad... just that I thought it was illegal everywhere, and functionally, WTF!?

EDIT2: apparently UV film here is allowed... but must be untinted: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/vi/...windowTint.htm

Functionally is quite nice and amazing, I love it.

Legally.....yeah its illegal. Of the....2 times I have been pulled over with cars with tint on windshield, cops could not tell.

With 50% its quite hard to tell its on there, and my tint guy does amazing work, you cannot tell tint is on there.....and cops have no tool to measure tint on windshields....

sooo......yeah win/win

Sure they do, they just look at the tool in the drivers seat If he's got mad bling, then he's probably got tint on his windshield.

Well, I'm not due to tell you shit, but I'll tell ya anyway:

The Lightning is not only a special limited-edition vehicle; it was a GIFT to me from my wife in 2001, for birthday/anniversary/graduation. So it means a megaloadfuckton to me. It needs to be garaged, so I can clean it up and make it the jewel it should be.

The ranger gets marginally better fuel mileage (18-19 vs 12), and does it on regular gas. At a 44 mile round trip to work, and at $3.29 a gallon for gas (today's price at the local Brookshire's), it costs about $8 to drive to work for one day. If I do the same thing in the Lightning, at 12mpg over the same trip, it uses 3.67 gallons at 3.59 per gallon, working out to $13.16 per trip to work.

Plus, I can beat the fuck out of the Ranger without worrying about it; while I need to be more careful with the L, because I don't want to wad it up into a ball.

NOW do you fucking get it?

No, I don't. Why treat a car that was a gift like it's an expensive watch you keep in a safe?

Also, I thought L's in stock trim are pretty bullet proof? And 12mpg? That's rough.....Jeep srt8 I had was 10mpg

But I understand why you'd want to treat it better than say just a random buy at a stealership.

edit: insurance/taxes negate your mpg issue though.....and maintaining.....IE putting plasti-dip on it.

you smoking crack again??

I drive em like I stole em, which means the L is looking like its 97k miles. I tend to be a slob, so it needs some good TLC.

The Ranger is a beater: when it dies, it stays.

44 miles to get to work? Christ.

I drive a beater to work and I will always have a beater. Seems dumb driving a $40K to work and then parking it outside. Especially in Texas. I don't have to worry about anything.
