As far as actual productive automated systems in large scale use, I do not know what is currently out there. I do know that there is already research being done in the field.

Two groups of researchers at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute have received a total of $10 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to build automated farming systems. One is for apple growers and one is for orange growers, but both are designed to improve fruit quality and lower production costs.
A small component, here.

More.

The idea of robot farming isn't as far-fetched as it seems, adds Grift, who is working to develop low-cost robots that can successfully navigate corn and soybean fields without the presence of humans. After all, many Midwestern farmers are already equipped with automated irrigation, grain-drying and precision-farming systems, he points out.
It is mostly an idea I had but in doing some digging to respond to your question I am finding lots of projects designed at specific crops. Given enough time we should, in theory anyway, be capable of designing specialized robots for each crop or eventually a generic agriculture bot that is equipped with interchangeable hardware to take advantage of all of the crop specific programing already being developed.

Any serialized process, that is something that can be completed in steps, can be automated given someone takes the time to do the programing and someone designs a dexterous enough robotic structure for that programing to interface with the real world. Agriculture is just a great number of steps taken to produce the desired outcome of food, I see absolutely no reason that provided enough funding and R&D time that we could not 100% automate food production of nearly all if not all of the US and eventually the world.

Nationalized robot work forces will be the way to go in the future. The reduction in the need for human manual labor that will come from the automation of production of all basic needs will be a tremendous positive for the human race provided we learn to control and manage our numbers.

I consider it good karma because for every $200 I suck out of the government a month, I am taking away money that could have been spent on war.

See people who pay taxes are amassing bad karma by funding murder through war. I am amassing good karma by sucking those taxes away from war.

I actually tell everyone I come across to get on as money government programs for this reason. I will actually choose to work just enough hours, so that I don't make so much money as to disqualify me for food stamps for this reason.

I know this disagrees with some of your 'opinion' so much that you probably think I am trolling. But I am dead serious. When you pay taxes, your energy is going directly to the murder of other people. This means paying taxes is a sin in the first degree. Jesus did not say pay someone else to kill for you. Jesus said not to kill. Paying taxes means you are sinning and going to hell.

It is a simple truth that the black, borderline homeless man, living a humble life smoking crack while on as many government welfare programs is actually amassing more good karma than you are and closer to heaven than some hard-working, middle class Christian family who pays taxes timely and goes to church everyday. I mean so what if you go to church everyday, your still spending the other 95% of your waking life earning money to feed the very DEMON that is manifesting the hell your trying to rid of the earth of. I mean talk about some cognitive dissonance. On the contrary, the high homeless black dude just gets to sit around all day, high, and have something else provide all of his nourishment, while the middle class white family struggles and works there ass off. This is not some fluke of the system, it's because the homeless black dude is on the side of good karma.

At some point I will challenge federal tax laws claiming first amendment rights that it infringes on my right to practice my spiritual and religious beliefs of not killing people, by forcing me to fund the killing of people through military. But I couldn't afford that right now. So my only option is to suck as much energy out of the demon that is the US government as I can.

Think about this, if we ended the military budget, we could probably get every citizen a food stamp card 4 times over. Cursing socialist services for raising taxes is stupid. Curse what is TRULY unnecessary. Murder.

TROLLED HARD!

Paying taxes is supporting murder. This is not an opinion. It is a fact.

There was also a statistic released at some point that more men are raped in prison than women are out of prison. So not only is paying taxes supporting murder, but it is also supporting potentially the largest source of sodomy and rape.

I support murder.

I pay my taxes, gladly. You like that park down the street?, you like that road you drive on?

Pay your taxes, .

I dunno wtf is going on in this thread anymore...

But MO has passed a few bills, and is coming close to requiring welfare recipients to submit to a drug test once every two weeks.

Let's take people in terrible social and economic condition and "help" them by making them desperate for basic needs.

Spending their welfare dollars on drugs is really going to help them out of that rut too, no doubt.

andje makes a good point here. when given a choice between food and drugs, many people would choose crime.

a better question: if food stamps didn't exist, do you think you'd get that tax money back?

I see advantages and disadvantages. Kinda nice to not support unproductive druggies. But it also costs more money to drug test people (I assume they are doing drug tests for free?)

I was waiting for this.
SNAP and other programs aren't bad at all.
They are a HUGE part of the last farm bill that was passed, but when you zoom out and look at the entire budget, it ain't shit. If a govt agency is given money, they're going to spend it even if they don't need to.

Example:
My high school got allocated so much money computers that shit was being replaced monthly and that happened for four years and is probably still happening

I don't see what you're getting at. What does that have to do with welfare payments and drug testing? Are you suggesting the State is better off funding their drug habits so they don't do something else illegal in order to obtain them?
