One of these two are lying.

Yes, there are errors of course, without really digging into this Columbus business that much.

I lift weights myself too, but unlike you I'm not labeled a fatty mcfatterson, I'm just "slightly overweight" or however it spells. A bit chubbier than Kazansky it seems, I score a 26
Still, I think as a ....hmm, "statistical point" it would make sense to say that when you round up all the people with 35 BMI, it's a sea of unhealthy fatties with a few really really beefy hunks in there, that was the point

I mean, while I don't agree with the BMI stuff (if that was unclear, let it be said now), I don't think there are many viable options for companies that have to "label" millions upon millions of people. Not like individually checking everyone is an option, though I guess a medical could cover that.

But basically any male who has lifted weights will end up as overweight or obese according to BMI. It's not a very good metric.

I don't remember the article, but it was based off of gym memberships, strict weight training availability (i.e. gyms without cardio rooms), physical fitness competitions/activites, and a few other categories.

Basically it was saying Columbus had a high percentage of weightlifters (be it power lifting or bodybuilding)

That's literally what they should do if they're going to price by health risk.

Interesting. Yes, definitely PM if you find out!

jk .

Actually to be completely accurate, I'm at 25.1, which puts me just over the hump of "you better lose some weight brah!" in the eyes of the WHO. Of course, I'm at the gym everyday, so what do they know lol.

Blanket declarations = higher profits though. They're not going to make a lot of money off of you, and they know that. By lumping you in with people who they will have to spend out on, they boost their profits. It's one advantage I think a government option has over private insurance when it comes to health care.

Would it by any chance be "diffuse panbronchiolitis"?

"The disease occurs where susceptibility, or a lack of immune system resistance to DPB-causing pathogens, is present. Susceptibility to DPB is attributed to the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) system, specifically to HLA haplotypes that are found in individuals of East Asian descent. The highest incidence occurs among Japanese, followed by Koreans"

"f left untreated, DPB quickly progresses to bronchiectasis, an irreversible lung condition involving enlargement of, and damage to the bronchioles, and pooling of phlegm in the bronchiolar passages. Bronchiectasis leads to respiratory failure and death."

Geography is off, but it's still in the asian ballpark.
