Trickle-Down economics and the stupidity of people

So, I'm really confused about this. Republicans have been telling the public for decades that the only way to fairly distribute wealth is to give more of it to people who are already extremely rich. They say that when businesses get more money, they can hire more people. In the real world, this doesn't happen. When businesses get more money, the executives get enormous raises and bonuses.

At a time when unemployment has remained quite high and regular workers are not seeing pay increases of even a dime, executives are taking home 25% more this year than last.

How is it that these people are taken seriously? How can they possibly stand in front of a microphone and tell the public that giving super-rich people more money is the solution, and then get applauded and voted for?

What the fuck is going on?

we've created a proletariat who doesn't care, so the only people who care are the middle class and upper class.

there's not enough of the middle class anymore to pay attention and regulate the upper class so they're free to do as they wish.

another issue is that people in the lower classes, which includes the middle class, think that one day they too will be part of the top 5% so they buy into this trickle down shit/low taxes/NO SOCIALISM trap

except of course the wealth grap is the highest its ever been in this country and is only getting worse

The media has a firm hold on the lower class.

most of the lower class think the only way to have a semi decent retirement is to win the lottery.

They don't even own anything they have, but they hold on to the illusion that it's theirs.

It's simple, really. You see, the largest companies employ lots and lots of people, and the chief officers of these companies happen to be the richest people in the country. Therefore if we give these people more capital, they will be able to expand, create jobs, etc. Now if we really want to bring down unemployment, we should really remove those burdensome taxes from the rich. In fact, we should all do our part and give what we can to our nearest rich person. I myself used to have a decent bank account, a house, and whatnot, but I gave it all to a local millionaire years ago so that one day I myself might be able to live the American dream.

We used to be even better off than the rest of the world, from top to bottom. Now we're letting that slip away, and for what?

edit: why am I pretending to have a dialog with Redrum?
