actually in one of the articles i read from more reliable sources (washingpost i think, i'll try to find the article) i think barney frank tried to revise the bill twice to get rid of the section that said the military has the right to detain US citizens and then and only then did obama say he'll veto it.

in other words he won't be vetoing it on its unconstitutionality but he'll vetoing it on the fact that it won't let him enact martial law.

there's a lot of rumors that the EU is planning on passing similar legilsation in anticipation of massive social uprising and chaos since an international "credit event" is imminent

this might be the big one folks, hold on to your butts...

whoever made this during the '08 elections sure had a lot of foresight

Well, what is ethical?

Making changes to soceity right now, that wont output a positive net result for at least a few generations - Is that ethical? in the long run, yes. But to everyday humans, No.

I'm still a fan of the resource based economy put forward in the Zeitgeist series, and from the Venus project.

Know anyone with a purebred dog?

you know pure bred dogs suffer more health problems due to their selective breeding than the mutts right?

plus what happens when one of the traits that whoever is in charge decides is unfavorable, is one of the ones that you have and they want to exterminate you to clean up the gene pool?

As a disclaimer, none of my cats are purebred (i find it somewhat wrong, and "mutts" tend to have better health)

But if you remove any feelings from the equations, then selective breeding in humans is a good thing - even in "light" mode, we could remove a lot of conditions.

I do not like the outlook of being forcefully castrated by the government since my genes are sub-par - but it does make sense, whether you like it or not.
