Point being, he did nothing wrong or illegal

No one is saying he did anything illegal.

The point is our system shouldn't favor rich people pushing other people's money around more than it favors labor.

Romney would still be obscenely rich if he had to pay the same tax rate on his "investments" as everyone else has to pay on their "income". Why shouldn't he?

If you felt like you didn't pay enough taxes one year (be it future or past) - would you up and say "I don't think this enough, I'm just going to include an extra $10k to make myself feel better". No? Than shut the fuck up

He shouldn't be giving more out of the goodness of his heart.

THE TAX CODE SHOULD REQUIRE HIM TO PAY MORE INSTEAD OF BEING SLANTED IN HIS FAVOR.

What do you not understand about that? We aren't saying he should be more generous. We are saying our tax code should be changed so that this kind of retarded isn't allowed to happen.

Yeah, because he's running for president. Also, if I may point out a few things from that article:

Quote:
-The Romneys donated about 16.4 percent of their adjusted gross income of $42.5 million in the two-year period, according to their 2010 tax returns and an estimate for 2011 taxes. The 2010 return shows $3 million in charitable contributions, and the 2011 estimate shows $4 million.

- the Romneys had deductions for more than $2 million in donations

-It isn’t unusual for high earners like the Romneys to funnel money into charitable foundations that they control, said Lloyd Mayer, an associate dean at the University of Notre Dame Law School.

“If you’re wealthy, you set up your own private foundation,” Mayer said. “You get a deduction now, but you don’t have to give it all away right away. You can do it in a much more leisurely way.”
And you also pay yourself for managing your private foundation out of the money you donate to your private foundation, which you also get a tax break for donating...

What do you not understand about the topic? I'm fully for fixing any and all <Quote>"Loop Holes"</Quote> - as well as what Obama even said last night about making them pay 30%+ bare minimum (keep dreaming) - Nevertheless, I'm all for it. But what you''re not getting is the topic question - Which is, why the fuck is anyone changing their vote for Romney after the results of this? He is not any different of a candidate after this news came out.

If anyone says they changed their vote because of this event, their answer would be "I changed my vote from Mitt Romney because he pays his taxes"

So the guy making ~$85k a year should pay 28% on that income but the guy making $20m a year should pay 15%?

you're an idiot. no one is changing their vote for him or against him because he followed the rules and paid his taxes.

if anything people are moving away from him because his comments that the amount he makes from speaking engagement is "not that much". people aren't mad because he paid is taxes, rather people think that he has no understanding of what it's like to be middle class. they'd rather have a president who went from middle class to upper class than one who started at the top

Take a look at what any and all of the media coverage has been for him in the last 3 weeks . Starting from the middle class has never been a reason a candidate gets shot down.
