He's running against him on nothing but misconceptions.

Of course he's not going to correct any of them.

I liked how Santorum said Obama is trying to create job by increasing the size of government, when there are 400k fewer government jobs than three years ago.

Pretty typical of the last couple years though, just repeat the lies over and over again and people believe them.

Obama said it himself - last time USA was down but not out we built the Hoover dam and the Golden Gate bridge. We created an interstate highway system that benefited not only those workers directly but everyone else from us to businesses that use them today.

How fucking hard is that? If that's "increasing the government" that's okay by me. On the other hand, creating a department for "homeland security" which now employs like a million people, is NOT increasing the government?

Ps. ghetto - in case you are still missing the point, his job is to tell people the truth, which yes, should involve clearing misconceptions.

Building infrastructure (in present terms, rebuilding it) vs. the TSA: One benefits all, increases productivity, and made things happen while providing jobs to millions of unemployed. The other is a MASSIVE waste of resources that cuts down on productivity and isn't anywhere near doing what it's designed to do. With employees of double digit IQ receiving triple digit pay for the sole purpose of searching through your luggage to find out how many shit stains you have on your underwear so you can waste four hours of your life at an airport. That's if they don't find anything. But you feel safer... at the cost of an unknown amount to the airport/airlines through lost traffic volume (People don't want their kids fondled by Michael Jackson at the airport. He didn't die, he just wanted to be a TSA agent). Why not see how much of that "Homeland Security" we can get rid of, along with other absolutely useless government programs and put those resources toward another Works Progress Administration? Didn't that work out well for us? Are we not in need of something like it? Are we in a position where the deficit has grown so large that we pissed that opportunity away?

What is wrong with hiring a group of people to build/rebuild a factory and then offering training and a steady job in the factory they just built/repaired? I don't see where this can go wrong, since we can pay for it through balance of trade. Yes, I understand that it was a huge mistake to piss away all of our manufacturing to China (Thank you, Nixon, and every political cocksucker since then!), but surely there must be some agreement that benefits both. It ought to be a moot point anyway, since China has a fairly large manufacturing infrastructure. Let them figure out how to market and use it.

Salesman: "No sir, that is an out-and-out lie, the Toyota Prius is a stupendous vehicle and there is no such spontaneous combustion problem on record."

I don't disagree, he COULD HAVE touched on the subject,

"No ma'am , Obama is not a Muslim. He is a socialist though."

But he is in no way obligated to do so... He's campaigning for himself... not for Obama... It's Obama's job to make his religious stance better known. That's on him.

It's a lot for some people to swallow. Or read for that matter. I agree 100% though.

So you are comparing him to a conniving used car salesman. Which is fairly accurate actually, of basically every republican candidate and their tactics in this election.

Neither the politician or the car salesman has any obligation, responsibility, motivation to EVER inform anybody that they are mistaken, unless the misunderstanding directly relates to the politician/car salesman standing there.

Would Obama have behaved differently? Maybe, maybe not. I wouldn't object if he didn't.

I mean... NEWSFLASH!! politicians fight dirty...How do you think these town hall meetings went back in the day before people had the Internet, before every cellphone in the room was capturing video.

This is Obama's fault. 100%.

Santorum isn't perpetuating the lie. Or even bringing up the topic of Obama's religious affiliation.

Only private for profit entities are allowed to create jobs. when the government does it it's evil.

for some reason.

I believe we are up to ~600k fewer govt jobs under Obama now.

The most honorable moment of mccain's 2008 campaign was when he corrected the crazy old lady about obama.

At least he was trying to run against the real obama and not the fictional one created inside the right wing talking points bubble.

Good point, forgot all about that.

Because for instance like with public healthcare, it eliminates the half dozen dudes at the top making obscene amounts of profit at our expense. Those few people then spend a lot of money (although still less than they make of course) convincing the sheep that one day too they may own an insurance company....

It's the same kind of insurance that is run FOR PROFIT, except it's done NOT for profit. So we all can have medical insurance, minus paying someone's multimillion dollar salary. Wrapping thoroughly laundered republican brains around that being a good thing is extremely difficult.
