Oddly enough Greece has one of the highest "hours worked" rate of any country. I suspect that they're cheating on that too, like they're "working" but really just dicking around doing nothing but happen to be "at work." Not surprisingly, their per hour productivity is awful.

It's no surprise. The thing I am shocked about is how long the Germans have put up with their ridiculous retirement age. While Germans are working their asses off to finance the Greeks, the Greeks are chilling on the beach collecting the cash 6+ years ahead of the Germans. Tax evasion is a national past-time, same with the Italians.

Upfront costs are too high, I don't want the responsibility. Furthermore, I am more than content going to work, collecting a pay check and leaving my problems behind at the end of the day. The closest I would get to opening my own business is consulting and for that I have plans already. But good suggestion, anything else?

TSRH.

That's why we're fucked, I think. It just costs too much money to start doing anything worth the time. That, and a lot of dumbshits like me taking out student loans to pay for degree programs that amount to jack shit. I wonder how fucked I'd be if I went back to school, since the only way I could pay for it now is more loans.

The education bubble is the next to burst though.

Everything that "looks alright" and "improved" is stemming from a massive amount of debt increase. Everyone seems to forget that little gem

And yes- Education will soon be a bubble that will burst, I am with you there. In addition to being overcrowded, the dropout/bum rate is off the fucking charts.

Hi. My name is a super majority. If I actually did something during my time, I could have prevented anything and all "GOP" excuses that I speak of today. I should have done something during my first 2 years instead of sitting on my ass. Thanks for meeting.

Obama passed more bills in his first two years than most Presidents do, even with record application of fillibuster (which the Dems didn't have the numbers to override) applied by the Republicans.

In other words, stop sucking down conservative propaganda and actually look at some facts.

here's a interesting little concept for you: Why not work on both?

If you think welfare fraud is negligible as someone else said in this thread, think again. It's a little more widespread then that.

Because the amount of money the government loses to welfare fraud is small compared to, let's say, the price of two weeks in Afghanistan?

BORKED

The entire budget for WIC in 2011 was 6.6 billion dollars.

http://povertyandpolicy.wordpress.com/tag/wic-budget/

The Budget for 2011 was 3.36 Trillion dollars.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Un...federal_budget

WIC accounts for 0.1964% of the budget. If you eliminated 100% of the program you would "save" two tenths of one percent of the total budget.

two tenths of one percent = negligible.

a fraction of two tenths of one percent = infinitesimal

going after poor people for welfare fraud is more about scapegoating the poor than it is about actually fixing budgets.

Tax cuts for the rich + two unfunded wars = budget surplus.

Right? Shit... I said something completely false. Fox News will double down on stupid for me and then everything will be fine.

You know it's fucked because we're looking for politicians to come up with the answers. Four more months until QE3. Just going to put that out there. Can't shake the feeling that this economy is in a hung start for recovery.
