The symbiotic relationship between a business, it's country and it's customers

There isn't one. All businesses have blessed this country with their presence, and are a gift to the people. No matter how stupid the product, be it beanie babies or fake coffee - the company doesn't owe anything to anybody and should not have to pay taxes.

This of course is sarcasm in response to the most recent trend in Obama bashing where he pointed out that a business can't operate without customers or without the environment created by the given country. To some this is common sense, to others it's a shocking socialist lie. But hey guess what, go to another country and try selling beanie babies. Or software. For example Uganda. Let's see how far you get.

My stance is this - the citizens have accepted your service or product, the country has created the environment. Should you do your civic duty and contribute to the economy to keep this gravy boat going? No shit.

Let's take for example the cruise ship industry, a hot topic since Costa Concordia bit the green weenie. Carnival Cruise Lines - headquartered in Florida, by FAR making most of it's money in the US and off US citizens doesn't have a single ship registered in the US. Yet every single one has a homeport in the US. Oh rly.... The company itself is registered in Liberia It's a blatant example of tax evasion but the cruise industry lobby is continually pouring money into congress so all this goes unchecked.

Cruise Industry Spent $2,505,094 Lobbying Congress This Year

Bottom Line:

If you have a business in the US and you think you owe nothing to the country or it's people.... How about you stop pretending that at any moment you can pack up, move to the moon and keep on trucking

Pay your damn taxes.

Carnival has a total of 25 cruise ships in operation - the pic I posted is quite literally the tip of the iceberg. Not one is registered in the US.

And yes we need Obama to oust those d-bags from the supreme court who upheld Citizens United. While Romney probably owns a part of Carnival....... I really do not want that man picking the next three judges.
