As an outsider I would consider Obama largely a failure, not entirely of his own making but he did plenty of things wrong anyway. But Romney and his sidekick are not currently a credible alternative. They could be one if they laid out some actual economic policies that could fix the mess. So far they haven't, it's more of the same "Reps against Big Government" who in the next breath will tell you who you can or cannot marry and send some extra billions towards the military industries whilst professing the need to close the deficit.
Laughable if it wasn't so sad.

America (and Europe but that's not the topic) needs credible centrist governments that can get things done. What you have now is the "left" that is actually right and a "right" that is off the cliff batshit insane. All this partisan BS is kindergarten politics while the house is burning down.

I basically agree with every you wrote.

I think it is summarized well in your first line. I know there are a few here who believe we should support the lesser of two evils but I do think that.

Now I think it might be better to support the worse of two evils. Maybe that would spur Americans to become more active in government. I actually wish Newt Gingrich was the Republican candidate.

Anyone here follow the bail outs and can summarize how much was lent/given out and how much has been paid back?

http://stimuluswatch.org/2.0/ has a list

One stands out
http://stimuluswatch.org/2.0/awards/...e-african-vote

Grant: $233,825 to ...Project Description: The primary objective of this project is, thus, to identify the micro-foundations of vote choice in sub-Saharan Africa

are these projects generally considered part of the "bailout"?

Did you try clicking on the menu option that shows promises kept?

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me.../promise-kept/

There's five pages of broken promises and ten pages of kept promises...

By my maths, that's ~66% kept promises to 33% broken promises.

...facepalm. 33% of failures of items you PROMISED to america. There is a huge difference of saying what you are for and what you will do.

Protip: 66% is failing if you even go by our failure education of fails.

The obvious solution here is to just never promise anything specific. Romney is taking this approach.

It's a fundamentally dumb argument. "Hey liberals, look at these promises your guy didn't keep. Vote for someone else who won't do a single thing that you want instead!"

Only possible justification would be to try and convince them to just not vote at all.

And what military experience and global knowledge do Romney and Ryan bring to the table?

Ryan's only private sector jobs were flipping burgers and driving the wienermobile. He is a career politician who lived off of SS survivor benefits through college and now he wants to destroy SS and medicare.

Romney's life experience includes "roughing it" in college by having to sell some of his stock so that he could pay for college and a new house. Then he dodged the draft in 'nam by doing missionary work in france. Then he made a lot of money offshoring american jobs and raiding people's hard earned pension funds. His private sector experience is literally being Gordon fucking Gekko from the movie wall street.

I'm sure he got a lot of good military experience while he was governor of one of the most liberal states in the union, Taxachusetts. Or while he was implementing his universal health care mandate which is nearly identical to the much maligned "Obamacare".

But please do go on about how your ticket is far more qualified than the guy who has been president for 4 years now. Tell us all about how their magical math will save us from the evil black man who's destroying our country with his wild eyed pragmatic centrism.

Amazingly when you make a political argument people are going to put it in a political context.

And you're one of the most blindly political fucks in this stupid forum of blindly political fucks, whether you vote for Romney or not. You won't even read facts that disagree with your partisan view of the world.

Also way to squeeze in another couple reminders that you're also a dumb racist partisan fuck.

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA Talk about the title of the thread - flip floppling! Thats all you stupid niqqer butt-fucking lovers do! I'm talking about our current president. I am not talking about loving us to elect an old ass mormon billionaire whom is the last of the candidates that I would ever support. But go ahead - keep changing the subject when your ass gets handed to you.
