The stupidity of Republicans: Chapter 1 - Tax Cuts

Quote:
Billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson says he plans to spend $100 million this year to get former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney elected president. He has already contributed $36 million to various Republican “super PACs.” That’s a lot of money. But it is far less than the windfall Adelson could reap from Gov. Romney’s tax cuts if he is elected president. Over the course of a four-year presidential administration, Adelson stands to receive a potential tax cut from the Romney tax agenda of more than $2 billion—an exponential return on a $100 million investment.

That's $2 Billion in tax cuts to ONE INDIVIDUAL. I'm sure that will totally solve our budget issues.

You want to know why your state is having funding issues? Let's look at what the Bush tax cuts have already done: http://faireconomy.org/sites/default...Tax%20Cuts.pdf

Scroll down to Illinois. Note the number that says -$5,803,301,000.00. That is the amount of revenue that Illinois did not collect in 2011 thanks to the extension of the Bush tax cuts on just the top 5% of earners.

Congratulations. You have "starved the beast". Now reap your reward.

But please do go on about how the reason we are broke is because of the teachers union.

Having enough money to buy your way to the presidency just proves that you are qualified to be president!

It's the teachers AND planned parenthood... They weaved the proverbial basket that we're all going to hell inside of lulz

Damn greedy deceitful bastards, with their jedi tricks... A few "petty" millions of dollars worth of brainwashing and voila, half the people are proudly writing dumb shit on their tailgates to support them...

It's not about the taxes jackass. It's about running a business free of government interference and being able to keep what you earn.

If you don't like how a business is operating. DON'T FUCKING PATRONIZE THEM.

That fucking government, making sure you keep a safe workplace, contribute to the upkeep of infrastructure, and treat your employees equitably, I swear, they're just out to get you at every turn.

And yes, this is coming from someone who owns and operates a legitimate (tax-paying) small business.

And you think you'd have people working for you if you paid 25 cents an hour and peoples lives were in danger?

Lol no.

Way to miss the point tard. If you dont have those regs, if you dont have a minimum wage, if you dont have federal standards you have to meet... well, you can charge 25 cents per hour because everyone else will be as well.

HOLY CRAP! postin on the intarwebs from my phone!

Lol no.

Sometimes I feel like I'm being paid 25б an hour, depending on the contract...

But seriously, what qualifies you to even have an opinion on business regulation?

Silly Pyramid, in Illinois, that nearly $6b saved in tax cuts created 50,000 high paying jobs. Don't you know how the trickle down effect works?

I see no minimum wade it 2 possible outcomes

A: you pay a wadge so low that becomes the norm across the country and the so called 99% cannot afford a single thing bankrupting every company.

B: you pay a rate so low that again becomes the norm, causing product cost across the country to drop and the low wadge is more than enough everyone can buy whatever they want.

I see small regulations a similar way

A: you pollute the air, workers die and no one will work for your company or buy your products because independant consumer watch dogs exploit your company for the evil it really is

B: or you have to operate responsibly because of the above reasons...

Is it really that hard to understand

For example, asbestos companies knew for years how dangerous it is in particle form....

And now asbestos companies are paying out the ass for lung cancer lawsuits even to people who smoke 5 packs a day, who worked in a particle asbestos field.

B:

Do you also touch yourself while reading Ayn Rand every night?

"Enlightened" self-interest is a great theory, when everybody has an equal playing field. To wit: If it were the case that companies saw it in their best interests not to pollute, then China would not be the manufacturing center of the world.

Capitalism is always focused on maximizing shareholder value in the short term. To do otherwise invites a due diligence lawsuit.
