Just like some people pick a winning football team then go around bragging about how "we" beat "you." It's the same psychological process. He's aligning himself with this shit not because he's rich, but because he needs something to artificially look down on to help his self esteem. It's transparent with how personal the posts get.

It's like the dregs of society who join the KKK -- they NEED to talk about how bad/inferior the "niggers" are so they can feel better about themselves.

Oh wait... no need to use an analogy on that last one.

Not to engage this douchenozzle's extra vinegary vengeance, but uh... how are you defining success? If you define success as extorting an overwhelming majority of your workforce so that you can steal more than your fair share of the profits, engineering the economy to also enable theft of their real property, then denying any ability to regain the standard of living they had a decade ago, then yes, that's very successful.

The way I see it, business is failing because of that. Business succeeds when we all succeed. It's not just a game of I'm better so I get more. That's asinine, and we're starting to figure that out as a country (I hope). I'm not saying we should all be paid the same. I'm saying that we should have a fair wage, where people don't have to worry about living paycheck to paycheck. Companies that make billions in profits should be able to do this, yet they refuse to do so. It doesn't make any sense why a company would willfully go out of their way to deny themselves a customer who doesn't need to use government money to buy their stuff.

Oh, well. It should be a fun ride. Maybe we'll be stupid enough to nuke ourselves off the face of the planet this time around. Fuckin' assholes.

walmart doesn't care if you are spending your money or government money on their products... it's all money....

/externalizing business costs to government subsidies + profiting from those same government subsidies to individuals = WIN WIN

but please do keep picking on the poor colored people because they are all about those government handouts... and keep on ignoring the far greater sums of money flowing upwards in our wonderful trickle down economy.

What you are describing is a problem that came about because of global economics. Walmart has to compete with all of the other grocery stores, target, costco, and anything else I'm not thinking of. When they fail to meet expectations... they fail, and their investors leave - the company crumbles. That is simply it.

On the subject of wages: Walmart is just as shitty as all the rest. However, on the subject of how much they pay - they should always start at minimum wage IMO. IF you are a store clerk checking out groceries.... you have NO SKILLS. You are at the bottom of the barrel with jobs. What defines how much bottom of the barrel you ask? Why, minimum wage - of course!

Now on the subject of min wage - I actually would not mind if we raised the minimum wage. It equals more tax dollars for the government, and higher wages for people. But what people are not understanding is the possible repercussions. It is a VERY VERY thin line. Another dollar into minimum wage that a huge corporation like Walmart might have to pay... could be the difference between saying "Fuck it, we're outsourcing everything" - and keeping what jobs they do have here. So believe me, I actually wouldn't mind if we can successfully (and safely) make it higher.

And to be frank - there is a reason that I don't spend a dime at Walmart. It's the people they hire in addition to the customers that I would much rather cut my eye balls out of their sockets than see such filth.

edit: But one other question: Who is to say a corporation shouldn't make "billions in profits" ? Is it "generally better if we spread the money around"?

Ok, son. Maybe this was a little before your time. When you sign on to work for a company, they used to look out for you. You might not have been paid enough to buy a home with cash money, but you could keep up with a mortgage payment. In that home, you were going to need quite a few items, and, as a result, usually bought a few of what you were making. Wal-mart has absolutely no excuse for their behavior, because everyone's got to eat. Where the hell do they think the money will go? Up in flames? Now, if it's a tax thing, that's just a sad bastard excuse for doing something when the company makes.... $14 BN or whatever. Plus, they can put that money into keeping their homes, which means they can keep their trusted people, which will keep buying the bread. Are you seeing the feedback mechanism here? I get the feeling a lot of you aren't. If you did, you'd understand that spread the money around concept a lot better.
