Good thing I'm not around people much. I'm pretty isolated.

What makes this one, THE ONE? Because the news says so and the government wants to give us the impression that it's doing something useful..since it hasn't done anything useful for a while..you know.
Killer bees were entirely media hype. With SARS, West Nile, and bird flu, highly trained health experts have confirmed the very real threat. The fact that SARS was brought under control is a testament to fast action on the part of public health officials.

Local media here in toronto confirmed today that it was legionnaires disease that killed people in the old folks home.

one tabloid newspaper had a headline that read: "ITS NOT SARS"

While birdflu is very scary, Sars was still media hype.
it only killed old people, and people with compromised immune systems.

If it was as potent as media reports made it seem, the actions of the government to try to contain it would have been much less effective.
